BUILDING GOING DOWNHILL FAST

This building was decent for awhile but going downhill fast - prices are increasing while services are decreasing. Management just fired cleaning company so building is getting really dirty - there is vomit on the front "porch" that has not been cleaned up in days. They accept dogs but plan to charge $75/month for a dog over 35 pounds - that is $900 year above monthly rent just to have a dog!
Also, the woman manager (won't name names but everyone knows who she is) cannot even do the basics of her job - front building lights never on so people have to come home in the dark (if someone ever gets raped or mugged the owner would be sued big time for negligence!!!). She is very loud and can be quite rude to tenants - you walk in with a friend from lunch or dinner and she yells at you from her office "Are they with you'" (No, I just let a serial murderer into the building, dummy!) Also, smoke like a chimney on the benches out front - glad to get lung cancer from the property manager - isn't there a Chicago law banning smoking in front of buildings'
So, nice location but kind of crappy management - be warned!

you may not name names but I will - the property manager is Denise Ward, who has to be to stupidest, most vile, disgusting, obnoxious, unprofessional pig I have ever met - this woman literally reeks of cigarette smoke, B.O., belches, and farts. The front lobby smells of her stench. I have never met someone so freakin' stupid in my life. She asked once if there were 53 states in the USA! Duh! She is so rude to tenants it is not funny - tenants have literally moved out of the building because they could not stand seeing her sitting in her office festering all the time and dealing with her retarded attitude. I know I sound childish posting this but if you met her for 5 minutes you would know EXACTLY what I am talking about. What a vile pig.....

I am the Property Manager here at Belmont Harbor Apartments.
Our rent has been the same now for quite some time. Yes, we do give a slight increase of around $25.00 at renewal time but that is below the legal 5% increase. Due to the high increase on utilities and the upkeep of the building, it is necessary to do a small increase.
Regarding the dog fee, there are very few buildings in the neighborhood that will even allow dogs. We only charge $75 for dogs from 50 to 75 lbs. Dogs less than 50 lbs are $50. The reason for the charge is there is upkeep to the unit and also the common area as well.
Here at Belmont Harbor we uphold a high standard of cleanliness and maintenance, regarding the front lights, there has been a problem with the lights and is being addressed but between the vestibule and the lobby lights there are always on. The outside area is made of mostly glass so with the vestibule lights there is still plenty to see.
It is part of my job description to know who enters the building, I have also take a personal concern for the safety of my tenants. Yes I do question the guest that walk-in with the tenant, as in the past I have watched tenants allow people they do not know to enter
