Will Not Renew My Lease

I have lived in the Belmont House for almost a year and will not be staying here. The first problem I encountered was when I went down to do laundry and locked myself out of my apartment. I had to pay $35 for a maintenance man to take the elevator upstairs and unlock my door. I'm sure it was a big inconvience for him. How about the 2 days I couldn't use my dishwasher or run water in the sink right after I moved in because there was a leak. Shouldn't they have given me a break for being inconvenienced' Then there was the time we wanted to reserve the hospitality room and I was told we had to pay full it in full and they couldn't hold it. I came back a week later with a check and it was "being held" for someone who lived here for 25 years. Ofcourse Mindy lied to my face and tried to tell me that's not what happened, even though I saw the book with my own eyes. We've had fuses blow at least 3 times and there is constant banging noises all day and night. We have no idea where they are coming from. The final straw was when I used the freight elevator they recommended we use for laundry because the other one started on fire and was out of service for 2 weeks. When isn't one broken' I got into the elevator and when I got to the basement the door didn't open. I was stuck in there for 20 minutes until another tenant tried to use it and realized I was in there. I rang the bell the whole time and none of the "busy" maintenance men were around to help. All I kept thinking is if there were a fire I could probably die. I really think that for what they charge in rent they should be able to update their elevator system. Maybe the management should take a pay cut so that they can make the proper repairs to make their residents safe. The one postive thing I can say is that Tim the doorman is always vey nice and friendly. He's the only good thing this place has going for them. I would not recommend this building to anyone.

I been a resident for over a year and I think your comments are very rude. I think the maintenance staff does a great job and I have had no problems with the mangagement staff. I think Dolly and Mindy get a lot of bad comments because they are apart of management and who else to get mad at. It's probably best that you move out. It's really sad that you are making bad comments.. What kind of person are you?

For any potential renters, I just want to point out that the $35 fee for unlocking a door is standard for most apartments. I've had friends in other buildings have to pay that. And I got stuck in the freight elevator too, but I pressed the button for another floor and it went back up. I didn't know some apartments have dishwashers. I wish I had one! |

I think what yikes13 wrote is very child like. I would not talk about Dolly and Mindy like that it's funny that people write bad comments because they don't have the guts to go down to the office and say it to them. It is only your side of the story. I have no problem with the staff I feel bad that they have to read this they probably know who you are anyway!!!

simpleslut99 and uppitydike91, shut the hell up! why are you defending dolly and mindy? are you sex partners, lovers, friends, co-workers? People are entitled to their opinions! Just because what happened to yikes has not happened to you, does not meant it HAS NOT happened. Grow up or shut up!

They did the same thing to me when I tried to rent the hospitality room. The way the office staff treats people is completely unprofessional! They are rude and will lie straight to your face.
