On Tuesday July 28th at 2 PM I will be meeting with Mindy's boss. If you have just signed you lease and were not told of the decor change and construction in the main lobby and Would give me permission to give to Reside Living management the number of tenents who feel this action on Reside Living was an act of Bad Faith, please feel free to email at philmaxey1@att.net
I, for one, specifically asked if major construction would occur in common areas of the building and would the current decor of the building change and was told by Reside Living management NO.
I was told only Furniture and lighting in the lobby would be changed and the only construction would be contained in the apartments themselves.

Your review is very accurate. The building that I loved when we moved in a year has turned into a joke. The elevator has been broken for nearly 2 weeks. The door remains open, and no signs are posted on it. So delivery people and guests walk on it to just stand there. When the "concierge" was asked when it would be fixed the response was "who knows?" No offer to find out.
The concierge sits around online or gossiping with people at the front desk and doesn't do anything more than say hi to appear helpful (although the tall skinny bald guy in the mornings would have fit in with the old doormen, he's not like the other lazy ones). Now instead of getting a quick call from the wonderful doormen that were here before when a food delivery comes it has turned into an uncomfortable phone call... "HI, this is (name) at the front desk" LONG PAUSE....forcing you to carry on a conversation when all you want is your food sent up. A simple "foods here, I'll send it up" worked so much better. All I had to do was say thanks. The old doormen would get out of their seat and offer their services as you walked by. I don't think I've ever seen any of the new ones get out of their chair.
And the lamps at the front desk are hideous and match absolutely nothing! The building has/had such a charm to it, being so historic. You could feel the history of it. They are bastardizing it by trying to make it modern.
None of the problems started until Reside moved in. And to raise rent while having such messy renovations is rediculous. I'm glad I lived here before they took over, but I'm not sticking around to find out how things turn out. It's not worth the money to deal with such headaches.

Hi Phil: I agree with you. I'm definitely moving out. My lease ends in 6 months. Not soon enough.
The maintenance men also came into my apartment without notifying me. They apparently 'accidentally' drilled a few holes in my door and entered without my permission or explanation. I should have called the police and fought to get my lease broken since they violated my privacy rights. I still have 2 holes in my door they patched from the outside and not inside.
They have been starting drilling and hammering early and have woken up many of the neighbors. I thought it was 8am according to Chicago tenant laws. They are starting much earlier and leaving dangerous debris in the hall. I almost tripped this morning. I am tired of waiting for weeks for elevators that don't come.
