It should say something that I went looking for a website like this just so I could warn people about Cobbler Square.

I moved out a month ago after living there for one year. I was really excited about it when I found it, because the apartments themselves couldn't be more unique. My complaints and reasons for leaving result entirely from the incompetence of the management.

It is only natural that things break down once in awhile, but when they go unfixed for months at a time it is the management's fault. Their JOB is to get things fixed and run the property so that the residents are not constantly inconvenienced. In the year that I lived at Cobbler Square, I only saw the large washing machine without a "temporarily out of order" sign ONCE. The elevators broke down constantly, including the night before I moved out, and of course were not fixed in time (I lived on the 4th floor-picture it). The hot tub has been "temporarily out of order" since November (6 months ago). The laundry card machine seemed like a good idea until my card stopped working when it still had $15 on it and the office "couldn't do anything about it". The noise infiltration is so unbelievable that I could regularly hear my neighbor POURING CEREAL. These might seem like trivial matters, but it really ruins the experience to have to deal with them on a daily basis.

I could have put up with these nuisances if it had appeared that the managment was even TRYING to deal them them. The communication was so bad between them and the residents and between each other. When I moved out, I asked someone to walk through the apartment with me, and he gave me a doomsday speech about not painting the walls back to white. I told him that they told me I didn't have to, but he said I was mistaken and scared me into leaving work early to go paint it. The manager had left a message with my boyfriend saying that the other office person was WRONG and that I didn't have to do it. Good thing I called him before I bought the paint.

When it comes to safety, you would think that having a doorman would be safer than a key, but as much as I loved everyone who manned the door, it did not make the building any safer because anyone can just walk in as if they live there. There was an incident a few months ago where someone came in and entered an apartment while the woman took out her trash. She came back and found him in there stealing her stuff and screamed. I heard her screaming and no longer felt safe.

This post is already too long, but I had to explain myself so you don't pass these problems off as hyper-sensitivity. I completely agree with all the other complaints on this site, and was even more upset to see that I was not the only one that had to deal with these kinds of problems. If this property had a different management company, it would be a much better place to live.
