I have to warn people about this place. My boyfriend lived at 2756 Pine Grove for 2 years, having just moved out about a month ago. He reserved the service elevator well in advance to his move out date. About a week earlier, it CAUGHT ON FIRE, there was a thick layer of smoke throughout his floor (he lived on the 7th) but the fire alarms and sprinkler system did not, i repeat, DID NOT GO OFF. Only the people on the east side of the building were told to evacuate AFTER the fire department showed up and had to flash their lights in resident's windows. Everyone on the west side of the building was not made aware of the danger and were therefore screwed. My boyfriend didn't find out until the day he was to move out that there had been a fire and the service elevator was unusable. Turns out, the management didn't even tell the residents about the fire, my boyfriend and half the residents in the building only found out in passing from their neighbors. Needless to say, moving his furniture with the commercial elevator was a nightmare and he was forced to leave his larger items behind.
