Hyde Park Tower is a dangerous place to live. There are 22 floors serviced by 3 elevators. There are numerous seniors and handicapped-some in wheel chairs. On average all three elevators will break at least once a month. Today all three elevators broke and someone was trying to get an ambulance up. One elevator was reset but the paramedics had it so everyone else was stuck for a second time today. People are talking about calling the city, the newspaper and the news stations. I say call. This building charges way to much money to make people live like they are in the projects. I am new here but I am looking at my options for breaking out of my lease.

I disagree, every building has some type of problems, first of all the elevators broke because their was a major pipe burst, which shut down the elevators and the contractor that came out didn't do the job right, so they got new contractors and the elevators are working fine. I have lived in 5 different buildings and Hyde Park Towers thus far is the best. Every building has some issues, every review i read in all buildings talk about complaints some way or another. Those who don't like here it is best they leave, and go and then complain about how bad things are in the next bldg. Hyde Park Towers is the BEST!!!!!!!!!!

Dearest Pretty Fine,
If you think Hyde Park Tower is the best you evidently have lived in some horrible buildings. The flood in the elevator occurred well after the elevators started malfunctioning. The flood was the proverbial straw that broke the camels back. It took out one elevator so they had to do something. In addition, the City of Chicago inspectors made a couple of visits which pushed the managers hand.
Of course all building have issues. What differentiates the good from the bad is how the issues are handled. The elevator situation at Hyde Park Tower was rediculus. On more than one occassion people had to be removed from the elevator buy the fire department.
PS. Did you realize that when those hundreds of gallons of water poured down the elevator shaft your water bill went up?
