---The Good---
Maintenence requests are always taken care of within a few days.
Grounds are really nice--good place to chill out, and there's the beach nearby.

---The Bad---
Getting the lease application through took about 10 times as long as it should have. Every time we'd get everything in they had asked for, they'd tell us we were missing something.

The kitchen is really the worst feature.
-No ventilation, so any time you cook with oil, it collects crud on everything.
-1 square foot of counter space.
-Single-basin sink, no disposal, no dishwasher means washing dishes is quite a task.

The parking, when I first moved in wasn't too bad. Now, however, there isn't enough parking for the people who live here. So despite the fact that they give you a parking pass, you'll have to park on the street anyway if you get in after 9PM. Lately, I've had to park further and further from the actual building.

The noise is absolutely horrible. Nearby MLK is where all the emergency vehicles drive. All hours of the night, you'll hear sirens.

I actually saw a fight in the parking lot once where one of the people literally kicked in a car window out of pure rage.

okaaayy!! the last part of your statement I found to bit unfair,,,who knows why someone would kicked in someones window,,,the parking lot is open to outside elements so anyone couldve come in,,,parked there and had some altercation that had nothin to to with Lake Meadows. As far as parking,,,yeah,,,if you want a spot right in front of your door,,,sure,,you may be a bit disappointed at the fact that your FREE parking didnt serve you properly,,,aww,,poor baby!!! THATS WHY THEY HAVE THE JEWEL PARKING LOT AVAILABLE TO ALL THE TENANTS ALL THE TIME AND THERE IS ALWAYS A PLACE TO PARK,sorry you dont feel like walkin,,Lake Meadows is a great place to live considering its 10 mintues from downtown,,,the views are beautiful and the land scaping is very satisfactory,,and for the ameneties we get,,,the rent is dirt cheap, and no,,these buildings may not have dishwashers,,however for those of us who are not soooo spolied that we dont wish to wash our own dishes,,,,lake meadows is alright!

These are legitimate complaints and for the money you pay and what they lead you to believe when you move in you have certain expectations. Like security and not having your vehicle vandalized, or random people that don't live there walking in the building committed crimes. Why should you have to park at JEWEL, when your not RENTING from JEWEL. Yes the parking lot is open to outside elements but isn't that would security is for to monitor you vehicle so that does not happen. I guess if someone hit YOU with a bottle you deserve it because you are walking outside with outside elements and they have a right to rob and assault you. YOU should have stayed in the apartment!!!! The rent is not dirt cheap and the amenties are average compared to other complexes. After 9/9:30 there absolutely is no parking in the lots! Let me not mention someone was carjacked in the parking lot so I guess that person should not have been going to their car! Or the burglary, well that person should have never left their apartment!! You need to be realistic!!!!!!
