I've lived here for about two months and I'm in the middle when it comes to some of these hot issues. Yes, it's Section 8 but it's not the only building in the area to have that distinction. The door staff is nice but anyone can pretty much walk in at will. They do seem to stop delivery men, and call me to let me know they are coming up, but my friends come and go as they please. The management will totally ignore you if they see you in the hall unless they are showing a possible tennant around. In that case, they're your best friend.
On the positive side, I enjoy the way my convertible model is set up. I guarantee you that you will not find a convertible in the area with a better view. I face South and the two large windows provide a great view of the Lake to the East and the skyline to the West. The water pressure is non-existant but my towel rack has yet to fall off the wall. My kitchen has new appliances and a generous pantry that is a rarity in the area.
Overall, If I could take my actual apartment and move it to another building (the one right to the East does block off the view of Navy Pier so we'll go with that one) where the management does not view you as a walking dollar sign and the door staff is a bit more diligent, then that would be ideal.

Unfortunately one bad review is enough for me. I just viewed these apartments and actually wrote a check for security deposit. I liked the building and my only issue at the time was the small living space. The bedrooms are large, the kitchen a good size and I loved the closet space. However I am going to back out now because while the bad review may only be one person's opinion, in a building that size I'm sure this person can't be the only one having those problems. No one would take the time to write that much detail about an apartment if these things they were saying were not true. Also the day I came to view the apartment is was relatively quite (Sunday afternoon) but there was a boy in front of the building directly toe the left of the front door walking in a circle for the entire hour I was there. It was clear something was wrong with him.

I would have to agree the view is amazing, the kitchen is nice but the carpets are cheap and they didn’t even bother to prime the walls or put top coat on them after painting. The wall in-between the kitchen and the living room in the convertible would be great if it wasn’t there. There is no lighting in the bedroom, or living room. The management really could not be worse… it would have been nice if they treated me with the respect of at least a walking dollar. I mean jeeze, I could walk right?
