Ok, so I moved in here about three months ago. As I am reading these reviews I am noticing that the majority of them are written by the same person (if you ask me it's written by the management of another building downtown ie: mcClurg courts maybe'). I'm going to get straight to the point:

Negatives about the building:

Yes it is a public housing building. This has been a bit of a drag because there are clearly people taking advantage of this. Is there a reason why someone on public housing deserves to live in Streeterville with lake views' I cannot think of one reason. I have never had problems with any tenants, but it is clear who is and isnt on public housing. I work ten hour days so I can afford my apartment!

Yes, the elevators are always broken. It literally takes me on average about fifteen minutes to get to my apartment. There are only four elevators and they all stop on all the floors, so when you live on a high floor like me it ALWAYS SUCKS (10pm at night, lunchtime, sunday, etc).

Yes, you constantly hear people slamming doors. For whatever reason, you can hear absolutely everything in the hallway. The doors offer 0 sound proofing. It is the strangest thing. I can turn my tv on low volume in the back of my apartment farthest away from the tv and literally hear it from the hall.

No, the walls are not paper thin. My neighbors are NWU students and have parties once and a while. I can hear them partying when I'm in the hallway or if I stand by my door, but I cannot hear them through the wall AT ALL.

Yes, Management is crabby and rude. The lady that helped me was awesome. I wish I knew her name. She should be running the building. The lady that is higher up is a total waste of space. She is EXTREMELY rude to her employees which has made me uncomfortable every time I've been in the management office. I heard her tell some lady that was signing a lease that she is a "high profile person." I am completely serious. I literally started laughing out loud. The only comfort I can allow myself is that anybody that is that crabby and rude to people must live a very ------ life.

Yes, the doorman are VERY nice. The doorman are aboslutlely awesome. You have seen this in every other post so I won't go on and on about them. The building is not as secure as it could be, but it is awesome to come home from a hard days work and be greeted by these guys. It's very welcoming. I really hope they are paying these guys well because they deserve it.

Yes, the location is awesome. You can walk a block away and be on Ohio Street Beach and walk a little farther and be on Navy Pier. I also ride my bike to work on the bike path. It basically feels like vacation everyday having the beach so close. Also, the fireworks at Navy Pier every Wednesday and Saturday are a pretty cool site.

I'm not sure if this building allows pets or not. They tell me they don't but basically every time I'm on the elevator somebody has a dog. I asked management again and they said only "seeing-eye dogs" are allowed. I didn't know Chihuahuas and poodles are your standard seeing eye dogs!

Yes, spiders are everywhere. It is very hard to control the spider problem. I spray twice a month and it KIND OF takes care of it. Anybody that has ever lived downtown in a high-rise knows to expect this though.

Yes, there is parking IN THE BUILDING. This is very convenient and fair priced for the area.

Yes, rent is pretty expensive. The gym is awesome, there is a pool, tennis/volleyball courts, etc.

Well I guess that's all for now. Feel free to contact me for more information.

Yeah I agree, why would Chicago put public housing downtown in streeterville?

What are the best floors on this building. I have a choice of 9th, 21st, or 23rd floor. Can some residents or former residents give their opinions?

The lower floors are public housing for the Section 8 tenants...The higher you go, the better it is.

for the same amount of money, you can live somewhere nearby and hopefully get somewhat better customer service. let's face it: it's not hard to improve on the terrible relationship that management has with its clients. i'm sitting in my apartment right now on the 24th here at LSP looking out at the lake..and thinking about how bad of a mistake i made moving in here. i can't wait to move out when my lease is up.
