HORRIBLE management Patty

It's a real shame because it would be a great place if it wasn't for the management. Patty has to be the most evil person I have ever encountered, I have been here for a long time, and it's true, ever since she has been around, everyone is miserable. The office people, the doormen, everyone is always in fear of Patty pointing the finger at them. You'd swear she thinks she is running a prison or something. I don't know how she got the job she has, but it obviously wasn't for her people skills.
Everyone always lies, they post things all over lying about when things are going to be fixed, always trying to make an extra buck off the tenants. They could care less if anyone is happy, even many of the bulk letters they send out to the building have a rude undertone to them. Of course, Patty writes these letters. Whoever hired her, are you crazy' Is she your family or something, do you owe someone a favor' I do wonder this, because she is terrible.
She doesn't know how to be nice, nor does much of the office staff. She just doesn't care.
Simona was on top of things before Patty came along, and Patty's hatred for everyone seemed to snub the good people out. Now I hear Simona is stuck running only section 8, where she is much more knowledgeble in the building than anyone else.
The new accountant Denise has no idea what is going on, and is highly unorganized. If you have a question, it is always a long wait on hold, so she can ask Patty. What Patty says, goes. She seems to make up things along the way.
It's like a little team of mean women in there, with Kathy and Patty as the ringleaders.
EVERYTHING in this building is always broken, and yes, section 8ers are out on the deck blasting their radios, and there are multiple people that are just crazy starting trouble.
There is a young man who lives in the building, who stole a bicycle, and still did not get evicted. Yet they have time to send all these letters out on fees, on not letting tenants in anymore, basically on being negative and mean. Never do we get a happy letter, or a positive statement, or positive posting. If it's posted, you can bet it's something bad. Just a negative energy overall.
I left my clothes in the washing machine, wet.
The machines were broke, and they basically told me, "Too bad."
The laundry room machines are always broken.
The elevator is always broken.
The pool always has something wrong with it, and opens late, where it's not even a fun experience anymore. I will bet anything, right here, that it will NOT open on time this summer either.
The jacuzzi hardly ever works.
If something is broken in your apartment, unfortunately you have call and speak to Warden Patty. I'd rather fix it myself.
I hear her yell at the other people in the office. Patty, do you have no shame' I have spoken to other people who have said that the woman is just plain mean. Why is she the manager' Nobody wants her here. Why is she here' She obviously hates her enviornment and everyone around her. It sure shows.
It wasn't like this before with the old management. Everyone was much more laid back and friendly, it was a much happier community. Now it's the tenants vs. the management. You hear it in and around the elevators all the time. Patty is making everyone hate it here, and cries to Kathy to help her out of the messes she gets herself into.
They break rules, have no value of their tenants, and do not respect rights. They lie, disrespect, and could care less about you, once you sign that lease.
Instead of fixing the issues they have with Section 8 and the ELEVATORS which need fixing and are never working, and with the kids that are smoking marijuana out in front of the building at night, they send mass letters telling the high paying tenants how much more their fees are going to be. They waste time trying to get whatever money they can squeeze out of you. They need to work on making this a happy livable place.
I signed again, hoping it will be like it used to, hoping this was a phase. I need the convenience to my job, but it's only getting worse. When my lease is up, I'm out of here. Pretty much because I can't deal with the management, and cooperation and a positive alliance is an essential when renting, in order to live a happy and peaceful life.
This building needs to get it's priorities straight. I'll assume it's going condo or something, I can't imagine another reason a building would be so horrible to it's tenants, let things go, and not care one bit about it. It just sickens me how they can't recognize we are human beings that need a safe enviornment, and polite management, that cares about us as human beings. We all deserve saftey and respect. Not Warden Patty.
I would like to add that if I was paying 200 dollars a month, I'd probably not complain either. I'd like to see who would stay here if they made an extra $1,000 dollars a month from Section 8. I am not judging all of Section 8, and it is silly for a section 8 person to think she is being judged as an individual.
Unfortunately, crime statistics ARE much higher among people in public housing. We are rating this as a whole, also, we are rating this building for the rent we pay and the value. Sure, it might be worth 175 a month, a storage box on lake shore drive is worth that.
I'm sure it's a wonderful blessing for urban project housing, but not for someone who works hard for the dollar, and has to give it up for rent.
I realize there are good people in section 8, but we are rating this building as a whole.
It has horrible management, and they can't handle the responsibilities of Section 8.
I stick to what I said, and kudos to the woman who gets to live here for free, I agree, you are very lucky. God bless you.
The people that pay are not lucky to live here. It is way too high of rent for what you are getting.

I completely agree with your thoughts on management... between "Sparkles" and Kathy following orders, and Patty running the place like a prison, after 5 years of renting, I could not have moved away fast enough in October. The only thing I missed was the doormen (who are phenomenal).
