Can someone please tell me where you can lodge a formal complaint with the city' Some of my neighbors and I are thinking of writing a joint petition/complaint. If someone knows where to send this, PLEASE RESPOND!

SOME of the MANY problems with this building:

The elevators are not only a pain (since usually 2/4 are broken) but are often a HAZARD (with tenants getting trapped or the elevators plummeting several floors to below-basement-level). I actually saw people getting hauled up out of the elevator (that dropped several floors to plunge below basement level). It looked like a bad scene from the movie Speed..... I was in an elevator with a resident and elevator repairman and witnessed an argument between the two. The repairman stated that the reason the elevators keep breaking is because the building keeps getting crappy refubished parts rather than getting needed replacements. According to the REPAIRMAN (who would know best) "the managment is too cheap to pay for adequate replacement." This is ridiculous! I don't know where they spend the goverment subsidization money that they get for the section 8 tenants/HUD. Maybe they should use some of that money to keep the elevators safe and up to code.

Problems with the hot water--frequently freezing cold showers. This is painful on cold Chicago days.

The managment office has terrible organization. For example, they lost all of their records on who's assigned to which parking spots and who has what key cards! This is not only annoying, but a security problem! Where did this information go'' They accept our parking payment every month but can manage to keep up-to-date records on who parks in which spot!'!'!

The laundry room is frequently broken. The whole system actually shut down with my sopping, soapy clothes still in the wash...and then the laundry room was shut down for days. The control panel is frequently broken...are we not paying enough rent to have a working laundry room'

These are just a few of the many problems...if someone knows where I can report the buildig/managment PLEASE LET ME KNOW!

I would like to know as well. Also, I think the tenants should get together and sign a petition or something to Pat and Cathy's boss. I have asked Pat who that person is and she told me I didn't need to know that information. I have asked around and I was told his name is "Patrick."

I triple this...the management staff is rude and discourteous to residents, unresponsive to voicemails, and unwilling to accomodate tenants with basic amenities. PLEASE email me (gandhim2001@yahoo.com) if you know where we can get involved to rectify this situation (though I have already moved out, I would take the time to be involved in this effort!).

Has anyone figured out how to lodge a complaint with the city? I see everyone's really interested in doing so...and I would gladly support it. Let me know.
