I signed a 12-month lease, saw what the place was REALLY all about (the ratings are true), and hired a company to get me out of my lease.
It took 3 weeks, a few papers are mailed out, and then YOU JUST LEAVE! IT'S AWESOME!!!!!
I don't want to name the company here, but they're fairly well-known in Chicago and look out for tenants' rights. They can get you out of your lease any time you want by finding holes in the contract, and/or violations, etc.
Very easy to end a lease early, and I'm so happy I left Lake Shore Plaza.
