Warning: Avoid Lakeshore Plaza

This apartment complex and associated management are HORRIBLE. I lived there for a few years and my situation ended badly. I do not wish others to go through the same nightmare that is life at Lakeshore Plaza.
1st, this place is section 8 infested. That leads management to treat everyone as if they were a section 8 resident.
2nd, the elevators are always broken.
3rd, no storage and if you try to store your bike in the garage, it will be stolen.
4th, there was a fire 2 floors above me and the thousands of gallons of water used to fight the fire leaked into my apartment and destroyed the apartment. The management refused to fix my apartment in a timely manner (I terminated my lease after a week went by without repair). Now, the management's lawyers are sending out collection letters for rent they claim is owed to them (when in fact, they owe me over $2000).
Looks like I will end up in court on this one. I am not the only one, either. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the headache.

Their lawyers are theives! They count on you settling out of court! If I could have hired a lawyer to fight them, I would have! It was easier for me to settle but costly.

NO NO NO NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hire a lawyer!
I ended my 12-month lease at LSP after only 3 months, and was threatened for 8 months, and finally served with documents to appear in court for the $2500 I owed for early termination.
LSP lawyers DO NOT follow proper protocol and are actually pretty dumb. They try to intimidate and settle out of court, assuming you'l be too scared to battle against them.
HIRE A GOOD ATTORNEY WHO SPECIALIZES IN TENANT / LANDLORD DISPUTES.
You will not regret it!
I won my lawsuit against LSP and they ended up having to pay me for violating my rights as a tenant.
At the very least, consult with an attorney. Any good attorney will get you out of this, considering your circumstances.
Hell....I didn't even have a good reason for leaving; I just wasn't happy and I won against them (and I'm still laughing!!!!).
