I have been here for three years - I am unfortunately moving in a few weeks due to circumstances with my job. I feel that this is the best location in Chicago, and 445 Ohio will go down as my favorite place to live in the city (I have lived in several Chicago rental places). You cant beat the pool, prices and the apartments themselves have unbeatable closet space. Also, just an FYI - I have never had any issues with any of the residents at 445 Ohio! Bollicks!

clearly written by mgmt 1) specifically calling out his/her opinion of the residents while NOT referring to management when all of the other reviews have a) had a mixed bag on the residents...some positive and some negative and b) have ubiquitously and specifically called out management for being terrible 2) generically pointing out the "amenities" of the building 3) my personal favorite, "my favorite place to live in the city". the only way that 445 can possibly rank in anyone's top spot is if the list only goes one-deep. seriously. please avoid this place at all costs - calling it a nightmare is insulting the black-haired horses.

clearly written by management (or a friend of) trying to get their score lifted. funny, and obviously desperate.

I guess he doesnt call masses of people (adults and kids) loitering daily and nightly in front of the lobby door and garage door to be an issue.

Ok, here's the deal you guys. Could it at all be possible that I actually do enjoy the place I live? I've spent time in multiple buildings around the city, whether living in them or having friends who live there. And in between I've spent time apartment hunting. I say LSP has good prices because it does. My one bedroom is spacious; the closets are big enough to fit all my clothes, and even my boyfriends. And for all my extra crap, I like having my second walk-in. Yeah, I'll admit there are problems with the building, but THERE ARE PROBLEMS WITH EVERY BUILDING! Elevators can be slow, all the washer/driers can be occupied, the spaghetti your neighbor is cooking might just seep out of his door and make the hallway smell. Who the ---- cares! And as for the "homeless" people and "heroin addicts" that people have talked about, give me a break! I addressed this in a comment on another post just after mine. It is true that the first two floors or so of LSP are Section 8. Get over it! They are people too! They mights not dress like you or act like you, but they deserve to be there just as much as you do. Anyway, never have I been "afraid" or "uncomfortable" by anyone in the elevator or in the hallways. Maybe I'm just more tolerant of people who are different than me. I like LSP ok? Maybe I sound like I'm management, but jesus. Every building has dozens of floors, and dozens of people living of each floor during any given month. Just five people who have a bad experience (and are mad enough to write about it) can ruin a building's reputation. Five people are mad, but hundreds more are satisfied. Yeah, I've been scared to go look at a building I wanted to rent in because of ratings and stuff. But the reality is: if you're interested in a building, just go see it. Ask questions. Anyway, do you really think management is going to let crack heads roam the halls when they know people are coming in probably daily to look at apartments to rent? No. And honestly: LSP is my favorite place. It doesn't rape me with extra utility fees, I like the pool and the work-out room has what I need. I like the doormen. Things are clean. It's close to where I need to be, but is still somewhat secluded. If you still think I'm management, or a friend of, whatever...even if I was, everything I wrote in this post is 100% true. I'm sorry if anyone who lives at LSP is unsatisfied, but if you are: move!
