Horrible Managment, Any Positive Review is a Fake

I have lived here for two years and happy to report that I am leaving soon. All the previous pros and cons are all true.

The elevators could not be worse. It's so bad that any place I look to rent from I ask if there will be any upgrade to the elevators for fear of having to relive this nightmare. They are constantly broke and the wait time is unexcusable. The workers are there well before 7am and continue through the night and the noise coming from them is ridiculous.

The ammentities are deceiving. The gym is not free and not even associated with the building. I've just been informed that I have to pay for gas now (which is averaged amongst the units) so the free utilities covers only air conditioning and cable. There is a small grocery store, but I don't think I need to remind you that you don't shop there except for mayble milk or bread. The other local grocery stores (within a couple blocks) are over priced and small. I miss the "super" grocery stores of the suburbs. Lastly and most important, THERE IS NO SECURITY. They used to be here twenty-four hours and could respond to noise problems or anything else. Due to the management office budget, they are here only during the middle of the day and leave in the early evening. Therefore, should you have any problems after 8pm, they recommend you call the police. That is the Chicago Police Department, the odds of them responding for a noise problem is not likely!

Management. Don't even know where to begin. First of, back to the noise problem, they are of no help. This place has turned into a college dorm for a bunch of kids who pack themselves into their apartments. I'm a professional and tired of having to complain about loud neighbors. Beware, the building also rents apartment spaces for businesses, so don't be surprised if you see a doctor's office next door to you. Not sure if that's permissible in the zoning code, but nonetheless, it's done here.

Best thing about the apartment, the view, the doorman and Marge in the receiving room (however the receiving room hours have been shortened so it's difficult to obtain a package if you return home past 6pm since they have closed for the day and don't reopen until 10am)
