I rented at McClurg Court Center for three years 2003-2006, and I loved my unit. The views are splendid, but are beginning to be blocked by the construction going on in that area.

The building is a little older than many of its downtown counter parts, but it is a great value. I chose the unit for it's convenience and proximity to Michigan Avenue. Also, the studio apartment that I rented was spacious for the price, with a separate kichen, bathroom, and a walk-in closet that was so big it could have served as a junior bedroom. My unit was larger than many of the one bedrooms in downtown Chicago at a fraction of the price.

The door staff was polite and friedly, but not overly intrusive. I moved out of the building to purchase my own condo; otherwise, I would still be living in that building.

The caveat: The elevators are slow and at least one is broken half the time (except rental season), the air/heat unit is old and needs to be updated. There is a problem with the plumbing, whereby at least once per quarter they have to shut the water off to repair it. For the next couple of days, there is mystery water coming out of your pipes (sort of rusty w/ a strange smell)

In all, it is a great starter building, and very convenient. I never had a problem with spiders as the other reviewer did.
