Unlike the guy that was always late paying rent and "upset" when asked to grow up, I like this apartment.
I've lived all over the country, including NYC and LA.
The rent is not "cheap", but you get what you pay for.
The staff is always friendly (especially Tiff) and even though the cookies and coffee are for NEW tenants... I would go to the office every other week and grab a drink and a cookie!
The views are good, the place is quiet, and since there are many medical/nursing students AND neighbors that work in the hospital, I've never had a problem with any loud, rude, etc neighbors.
I got rid of my car since I work 5 blocks away. If you have a car, you gotta pay parking or GOOD LUCK street parking.
The only "peeve" I have is that DANG GYM. I was paying about $100 for myself and an additional $80 for my wife. Not only did they charge an ADDITIONAL FEE for tennis, but the hours and classes are not convenient for many people. Anyways, nice gym, small, quiet, and clean.
Having the 7/11 downstairs is cool, I don't care for the dry cleaner people... they are VERY RUDE... and I've given them many chances just to be NICE. If you dont like your job or being there, PLEASE LEAVE. I actually walk 1 block up Ontario and go to the nice older korean lady. She rocks, always smiles, and does a HECK OF A JOB!
Starbucks across the street is awesome, especially to study and hang out. The italian joint next door is also great for a meal.
Seriously, its in a GREAT LOCATION.
Trader Joes is 4 blocks away, Fox & Obel is 2 blocks away (pricey but DAM GOOD! especially breakfast!), and Dominiks is also 2 blocks away.
Navy Pier is around the corner as well.
GREAT GREAT GREAT LOCATION. Do I wish it were "cheaper"' Of COURSE! However, its tough finding a nice place, in the immediate area, for cheaper.
Oh well... too bad... I'll miss this place...
But Chicago is TOOO F___ING COLD! I'm moving to Dallas!
