We have had numerous issues over the past two years. Specifically, we have experienced various plumbing problems. In the first instance, a pipe burst causing a great deal of damage to personal property, for which we were reimbursed a relatively minimal amount given the damage. Moreover, when fixing the leak, contractors came into the apartment without permission and stole certain personal items, the value of which was never reimbursed as Village Green's policy is to allow persons to enter your apartment, but they have no responsibility for the actions of these third parties. More significantly, the kitchen sink has had numerous issues seemingly caused by a faulty line. While a few members of the staff have inspected the situation, after almost two years not one improvement has been made. In addition, despite our busy schedules, we were told to continue to remind management of the problems because as we were told "sometimes these things fall through the cracks." In my mind, this is inexcusable and as result of this treatment, we have decided to move out. Also, we have experienced drafts caused by poor sealing on the exterior windows. Not only does this permit insects and other debris to potentially enter the apartment, but this significantly increases our energy bills during the winter season. Besides these major issues, the door staff is extremely cordial and the general decor of the common areas are nice despite the age of the building in comparison to others in the area.

I have to disagree with this reviewer. You say there was a leak, but you don't want people in there when you're not home? Then where do you get off complaining about the leak in the first place. If you want it done fast you should let them in when ever. Also I remember when I moved in they required renters insurance because the City of Chicago states that a management company isn't liable for damages to personal property. I have a lot of nice things and maintenance has NEVER once taken anything. I think you need to get a new place. Also, if it has been a problem for 2 years then why havent you moved out?

Do you work for the building?? Why would anyone let someone in their house if they'd stolen property from them? When you sign in to use this site you are supposed to agree that you don't work for the building. Since I actually used to live there-I can attest that I've heard several similar stories. I wouldn't live there again-especially not with so many nicer, newer buildings in the same area-and I wouldn'tell my friends(or strangers) to either! I find it very unlikely that someone who actually did live there could've written your comments.
