Not Perfect but GREAT First Apartment

I just moved in to the city and the apartment a few months ago and so far it is turning out to be a great first apartment.

I don't think anyone will ever find a perfect apartment and I'm sure most people who pay the price range of this apartment want perfection. Considering the rental market downtown, 1 East Delaware delivers for the price. I have seen other apartment buildings that charge just as much if not more and they don't have the same amenities and convenience of 1 East.

The management staff is great! Everyone is pleasant to talk to. When you have a problem they are very explanatory and helpful. Sometimes they will even follow up to make sure your issue was handled. Maintenance is quick. When i first moved in there were little issues here and there but nothing big. Maintenace was quick to fix everything. With as many units as they have you can't expect them to catch every little thing when they only have a couple of weeks to prep the apartment. Also, management and maintenance were nice enough to paint the apartment for me in the colors I wanted before I moved in (I provided the paint of course).

The facilities are well kept. The fitness room is never really overcrowded and the business center is very convenient because it is open 24 hours. The laundry facilities are also nice. I have yet to have a problem using any of the amenities.

You can't beat the convenience of having a grocery store right downstairs. They even deliver for you if you are feeling extremely lazy. The elevators are not slow as people say. I live on the 31st floor so obviously I can't expect the elevator to zoom to me in 5 seconds from the first floor.

My only complaints are that the air ventilation system can get a bit loud and the balcony was really dirty when I moved in. Also lots of cobwebs outside on the windows and balcony. Another item I didn't like was that there was no light fixtures in the bedroom and the livingroom so I had to buy a lot of floor lamps to light the apartment. PARKING IS RIDICULOUS! $245 a month for a nonreserved spot. Goodness! But that is not really the apartment's fault. I think the garage is run by a separate company. (However, zipcars are in the garage which is really convenient for members)
