85 degrees outside and the management is blasting away with the heat all over the building' My friend's apartment was about 100 degrees.

How Does Forest City get away with this' As a person who has visited here many times and at one time was planning on moving in, I wonder why all the residents aren't standing in front of the Alderman's office demanding that something be done. What's the problem with young people today' Did their parents teach them to "smile and take it" when people/corporations trample all over them'

Getting back to the Pavilion, the place is a total pit. The management has just let it go. I would only recommend this place to my worst enemy or people who enjoy roaches, mold, terrible plumbing and Death Valley type temperatures almost all year round."

A homeless shelter might be better. The rent would certainly be cheaper.

Wrong!!! That's what the Pavilion wants you to think. They lied about the city ordinance. The heat DOES NOT have to be turned on, all the time. It's only required that the apartments be at least 66-68 degrees. Therefore they can turn on the air conditioning or at least turn off the boilers when it's warm outside.

Sounds like a personal problem to me!

knightpriate, I stand corrected. Here is the text from the City of Chicago: Chicago's Heat Ordinance requires that from September 15 to June 1, rental units must be supplied with heat in order to achieve the following minimum temperatures: 68 degrees from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. 66 degrees from 10:30 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. Tenants who believe their landlords are not meeting minimum heating standards should immediately call the City's 311 Call Center.

I like the fact that we dont pay for heat and a/c. I will deal with the one week of rough weather for that.
