Reasons why you shouldn't live here:

1. They turn the air off around September. Anyone who lives in Chicago knows that the weather is changeable...yet they still turn off the AC. It becomes *sooo* hot in these apartments, especially on the upper floors, because the windows do not open all of the way.

2. NO cell phone reception!! None at all!! I had to buy a land line because I can not get reception. Despite what the Habitat Co. says, it does not matter what plan you have, you will not get reception.
the managment will yell at you for talking in the hallway--they are very rude and power-hungry!

3. Elevator Wait--Yes, you will have to wait for the elevators. Sometimes 10 minutes. This may not seem so horrible at first but when you have worked all day and just want to go home it's horrible. Just imagine stopping at every floor in a non-air-conditioned elevator jammed with 15 people.

4. The management--The management is horrible. They are rude, uneducated pompous people--especially the head of security-- A white haired old fogie with an insignificant life who with his little amount power will make your life horrible. Don't even think of talking on your cell phone in the hallway (the only place you get reception) because they will curse you out! And definetly don't think about complaining because they are power mongers. An insignificant pseudo-authoritative employment posistion goes to their little brains more quickly than I get overheated in my apartment.

4. The smell--I actually saw someone comment on this and it is true. The vents are not selective and yes....you will smell your neighbors curry, their smoke, their cigars and probably even their underwear.

5. The Rent--It's not worth the 1000 dollars I pay for 400 square feet. Find a better spot. Lincoln park. Wicker Park. Old town. A kinder, smaller niche. Or even a nice small highrise. A place with better management.

Anywhere, but here.

I agree with the air conditioning and heating problem. It was definitely way too cold or way too hot when the temperature changed and there was nothing I could do about it. However, I did receive reception everywhere in the apartment with Sprint PCS, and was never told to not talk on my cell phone in the hallway. If anyone told me to not use my cell phone in the hall way, I definitely would have told them to go to hell.

I too agree with the air conditioning and heater Cell phone as tripleapt says sprintPCS is available.
No body told me not to talk on my cell.
For Mannagement I agree to a limit not all are rude ...
Rent is more but it is so easy to commute...
and lastly about smell yes it does smell indian food but then again with such multi ethinical ppl you are bound to have smell ...but I blame it on non proper airconditioner..!!!
