I have been living here for last 10yrs and since new management took over, this place has gone down hill. recently they introduced the new security system, that has introduced large lines and wait times to get in, even if you a resident who has forgotten his ID. No to mention all the extra charges for storage, gym, utilities.

Few points to make sure before you rent this place.

1.Gym cost is 55 bucks extra per person per month.
2.Utilities cost is extra $20 per month
3.If you rent a storage locker that is again extra (i think $15) per month.
4.Laundry cycle is 1.25 per wash or dry.
5. At peak time you have to wait for elevators a lot, avg 5-10 mins.
6.If you have guests visitng you, they will have to wait on an average 10-15 minutes before getting in,and yes this is everytime they step out of the apartment.

I am glad , lease is ending in 4 months and ill be out ..

rightly said sir. Its not only you who is planning to move out. I am resident here for almost 3 years. Thankfully my lease is ending Dec 30th. Similarly my next door neighbour stayed here at least 5-6 years, moving out this weekend.

I have lived here for eight years and I am also moving out (unfortunately seven more months on lease) ... it almost seems like they are trying to force people out?? Not sure why, but why on earth would the management do some of the things they have done?? -------------------- Has anyone considered legal action? The new security policy is clearly an invasion of privacy and bordering on harassment!!! The security staff has called the Chicago police on tenants who refused to cooperate with the new policy, again, clearly harassment!!! And yet they refuse to take action when you call with a ???real??? security issue. If the tenants ban together there may be groups for legal action. -------------------- To the management of Waterton that monitor this list (you know who you are) ??? stop with the false responses. We as tenants have the right to voice our complaints.

I completely sympathize with you all. I too am moving out at the end of December. I have only spent 1 year here but have no desire to renew my lease. I hate waiting for the elevators. I live on the 4th floor but since there is a locked door in the stairwell between 3rd and 4th floor I can't walk up the one flight. I don't even invite friends over anymore because I am embarrased that they must wait just to get in past security.
