Do not sign a lease here.

I do not recommend that anyone sign a lease with this property. The property itself is decent (nothing too special, but great location, great view) but the office and management is awful!
We signed a one-year lease that had a rental special that applied to the second month's rent. They refused to honor the special, saying that we lied about it. When we provided written proof of the rental special (their representative had written it for us) they accused us of forging it. This is the worst treatment I have every received from someone who is getting so much money from us!
They have all around treated us poorly and I cannot wait for our lease to be up. They will lie, cheat, and steal to get your money and will not give you a second glance once they have it. BEWARE.

What tower do you live in? I have had similar experiences with the tower 1 manager (he is the most unprofessional, lying, piece of ... you get the idea).

I would suggest that you absolutely contact an attorney. If you do indeed have a signed, written document, that's a legally binding agreement; doesn't matter if it's scribbled on a napkin.

I also would be interested in legal action against Waterton. I have had serious problems with the Gestapo like security staff. They are the most unprofessional, arrogant, confrontational individuals I have dealt with. The recent security changes are ridiculous and an attempt to blame the tenants for the recent security problems (there have been several robberies). The real problem is the security staff. Even with the new policies, I still witness the security staff letting individuals into the building without checking in who do not live here. It is these individuals who are the problem.

I'd contribute to a lawsuit, as well. I have a written agreement that stated I'd get half my security deposit back after 1 year of residence. They chose not to honor that agreement because management changed over from Habitat to Waterton in the middle of my 1st year. It's pretty clear that they're in the business of reneging on their agreements, so I'd be happy to contribute to any legal action you might take. You can contact me at kcrachael1@hotmail.com.
