Presidential Towers started charging for water and sewer a while ago.
Now they start charging heat which will cost 70-80 dollars a month,
also this is not only for winter months, every single month.
I think that new management company is really greedy and soon they will need to change their policies since their vacancy rates are rising very fast.
Please do not rent just looking at the rental rates, their addded cost will give you a very different rent than the original one.

damn. I left in summer of 2007 and at the time the rating was in the low 50%s and the new management had just taken over for a couple of months.
since then, there have been a huge string of negative reviews, and the rating has now dipped in to the 30s. So sad.
This new management sounds horrific.

Yes this place was really good to stay some couple of years back (with Habitat company managing it). Now with Waterton really it has gone worse.
Thankfully I left this place 3 months back.

To the individual who would recommend this place ...
I know that management monitors this site and has posted false positive reviews in the past; you are clearly management. The few apartments which were renovated were done so recently, within the last year. You could not have lived in the apartment you describe for the past 2 1/2 years.
I have lived here for eight years and have decided to move based completely on the unprofessional and ignorant behavior of the management staff. Oh, and let's not forget the immature/insecure security staff who seem to get off on harassing the residents.

What an idiot you are just to think that if someone disagrees with you - they must be management. I am not. I have lived here for 2 1/2 years and would recommend it to anyone. Obviously you don't know what you are talking about. My apartment was renovated in December of 2007 and looks great. This place will be much better once the low lifes like you move out. Good luck!!!

Yep, I moved in over 2 years ago when it was managed by Habitat and there were mostly young professionals, Indian couples, and some corporate housing. All of that worked fine with me. Now, the young professionals have pretty much moved out (I'll be joining them next month) and they've been replaced with complete hoodlums and rowdy 18-year-olds. Lots of Section 8 and drunken teenagers here. They've beefed up security because they're worried about intruders--but the problem is being caused by the fact that they're renting to delinquents!
Utilities here are through the roof. Do not rent from this place. Other neighborhoods are really on sale right now due to the recession--you can find much better deals. I agree with richy81, you are paying a lot more than you think at this place.
Keep looking around.
