I've only been living here a few months, but I have to tell you, its so much better than any place I have ever lived before. I don't know who these people are that are complaining, but there are very few rental buildings in downtown Chicago that have a pool, fitness center, grocery store, and dry cleaning in the building that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Plus a beautiful courtyard and access to a grill! The views are wonderful on the higher floors and the building is generally kept in tip top shape. Yes, the elevators leave something to be desired, but come on, if you can walk to work, waiting a couple minutes for the elevators sure beats waiting many minutes for a smelly train. I think that Benny is a fine doorman. Have any of you ever tried to talk to him or be friendly to him, or do you treat him like you probably treat anyone that you feel is 'lower' than you' This is a great value and a perfect place for singles and couples without kids to live in. No shortage of things to do in the neighboorhood.

I'm not sure what your defination of 'lower' is, but I've never seen a problem with Marco, Johnny, or Keith, just Benny. So are you saying that Benny is 'lower' than the other doorman?

Give it a little more time and you will see what everyone is talking about. I have lived in the building 3 years and I was only there 20 minutes before running into out great Jose... who was trying to kick us out of the loading dock (only being in there like 15 minutes). I agree with EVERYTHING that has been posted on this site. As a matter of fact I have come home to my boyfriend asking if he was the one who posted the latest comment... b/c it is the same stuff we talk about on a daily basis. Little to my suprise- he has posted nothing to this site. I am glad to see we are not alone in our feelings of the building.

Wow, maybe it depends on the floor, then. I haven't had any problem with any member of staff or facility. My floor is pretty quiet and I've never experienced loud or obnoxious people, food smells, or anything else that is so troubling to the residents.

I agree with the person that said you people are too picky. Check out the other lease prices in the neighborhood. I have lived in this building for ten years I have seen it change management hands several times. I have seen things start to fall apart yes.....I have also checked out the prices in the other new high rises in this neighborhood. I have a great view, I can walk to work. Do I have a screen after requesting one for the past year since the new management took over and removed our screen? No. But I am not willing to pay $500 to $800 more per month to live in the newer high rise down the street. If you don't like it here, either move down the street to the brand new place that is state of the art, fresh, immaculate, sparkling clean and pay the extra $, or move to a different neighborhood. Or shut up. You get what you pay for. As for the door staff, they are all nice. Keith, Marco, Benny, John, and the other two, the woman and the gentleman that started less than one year ago and I have forgotten their names, they are all wonderful, polite, sweet... OK...so Benny can be a bit slow with the door at times.......but if you take the time to say hi to him, ask him how he is and treat him like a human instead of a machine operated door person, he can really be sweet. I just realized that maybe it is me that is rushing past a man that I see everyday, rushing to get home from work, maybe if I look him in the eyes, this man that I see every day and ask him how he is, as he serves the building and the tenants, it might make his day or night.
