While I am relatively new to the Fisher Building (less than six months), I can honestly say that the management has been great. I moved from across the country and needed a unit turned around relatively quickly. The management team (Erin specifically) was able to make this happen. Management was very accomodating. I've relocated with my company quite a few times and can usually tell when the management team just wants to close the deal and could care less about you after the check clears and the lease is signed. During the move process I called, quite frequently, with question after question, yet whomever answered the phone was friendly and any messages I left were promptly returned. Upon my arrival, management was still friendly and helpful. Concierge (Lisa specifically) made sure I felt welcome in my new home, offered assistance with whatever I needed and consistently offers a friendly "hello" to welcome me home. Most of the complaints I've seen (other than management - I don't know those specific situations so I can't comment on them) are typical for city living. Apartment living has it's benefits but there are also some things that come along with it. You might occaissionally hear your neighbors (although I've never heard mine). When you live downtown, you will hear street noise. You will also see homeless people. It's par for the course. Is the Fisher Building perfect, no, but few places are. It is close to shopping, public transportation, the theater district and nightlife (restaurants, bars, nightclubs). The location is about as safe and clean as any you will find in the downtown/loop area. If you look around, you might find cheaper rent, you may find one or two fewer homeless people, you may even find a place that includes free utilities (not very likely). What you won't find is a management team who works harder to make tenants happy (within reason), a more friendly concierge staff, nicer, more considerate neighbors or a more beautiful and distict building.
