Wellington Arms

If you're just starting out and don't plan to stay for long...this will be a nice launching pad. Having posted a pristine review several years ago, I really hate to say that this building isn't what it used to be and I don't plan to renew. Sadly.

I've gladly dealt with understandable issues over the years (example being the service elevator being closed for repairs for about a year). Recently I've been completely turned off because of a few issues. First, the recent unacceptable lag in communication from the building's management is infuriating. Secondly, although the engineers are truly awesome about immediately fixing issues that are brought to their attention, general upkeep is lacking. Given that there are two walk-thrus every year for screen installation and removal and general inspection, one would think it reasonable that certain issues would be noted and repaired (such as bubbling/cracking paint). Another recent issue is that, after having spent a lot of time and money to landscape the entrance and install lights to illuminate the walkway, the lights haven't been on in the early morning hours. Particularly irritating since now there are many bushes that could be fantastic options for someone wanting to hide.

This is a charming vintage building in a great neighborhood and, in general, it is acceptable. The engineers are wonderful and I truly love the location. However, I've discovered that other properties offer far more for a comparable out-of-pocket cost (e.g. newer construction with cable, internet, w/d, electric, and dishwasher included).
