Very poorly managed and maintained and noisy.

This property started with great potential when it was managed by a family. The property is now managed by Realty & Mortgage Company in Chicago. The maintenance situation has degraded sharply over time. We've had 4 different maintenance men in the last 6 months. Simple things like changing light bulbs in the common areas like hallways and stairwells did not seem to happen in a timely manner. The property manager assigned to our building never visited the site and never acknowledged any ongoing issues. The village of Downers Grove has repeatedly sent a building inspector to force the management company to comply. The quality of neighbors is another issue that has become a problem. It is not unusual to see police cars at our building frequently. The rent is another story. Some tenants have been in the building for a number of years and the rent just keeps going up. One neighbor was paying $850/month for a one bedroom. Then a terrible new tenant would move in at $625/month. Where is the logic'!' This policy has forced the longer term good tenants from the building. I am moving soon.
