Not bad for the price.

I've been here for almost four years now (I'm an evil cretin who is biding my time until my parents move into a retirement home and give me their house). Considering how cheap the rent is, the few problems I've dealt with seem pretty minor. I have friends who have far worse problems and yet pay upwards of 25% more per month. The best part: this is one of few apt buildings that's this cheap and yet doesn't take the "housing assistance/welfare" folks who tend to be - let me say this nicely - awful, horrible people who destroy everything that they touch except when they leave it sticky and smelling of vomit. Keep in mind, this is an older bunch of buildings, so there are some things to deal with which might be a deal-breaker for some folks.
No central air. Only a wall unit in the living room. This is fine for me, but it means your bedroom won't be cool during the summer. Heat works great, though. Water is free; there's a dumpster and laundry room for every building; fridge, stove, and garbage disposal provided. And everything is kept in working order.
The walls are very thin here. Normally, it's not an issue, but a rude neighbor is a major problem. Most neighbors are pretty good about keeping the noise down, while the few who are continually loud, usually get kicked out after a few warnings.
The parking is good, but with so many cars, it invites theives. While the cops cruise through here regularly, I still wouldn't leave anything valuable in your car. Some of this could be fixed if they'd just increase the outdoor lighting at a few key points. Overall, though, it's actually a really safe neighborhood.
Another issue only affects those of us living on the ground floor. When certain non-male people flush certain monthly hygene items down the toilet (which anyone with a brain knows you aren't supposed to do), it causes the ground floor toilets to sometimes run over. But the staff is always quick to fix it and clean it up.
Honestly, the staff has taken care of every problem I've had very quickly and efficiently (day or night). By far the best I've dealt with anywhere.
