The apartment rent is a little on the high side. Good access to highways though. The staff are friendly but I get the feeling that they really have no control over the apartment complex itself.
Now the bad part. . .we've literally had light fixtures (very heavy ones) fall out of the ceiling. We've also had a closet collapse. The staff did not seem too concerned about this. However they do get concerned when your rent is 5 days late. Contrary to the hype-the apartments are old and things are falling apart. The utility bills are astronomical because of poor insulation (I have 5 friends in this same complex, we're all done after this lease). The carpets stink. The plumbing does some really weird things. The washer and dryer (contrary to their hype about new appliances) are about 15 years old and can do about 3 shirts and a pair of pants on each load - tiny!)
Here's the best part. . .they are terrible at clearing snow and ice in the winter. When I complained after 2 weeks that the ice from a 2 weeks old storm was still caked in 3 inches on our pavement I was told that the ice melter was stuck on barges in the Mississippi! Lol. Anyways.. .2 days later I slipped and fell really hard. I called and left a complaint and got no answer. Just an indication of how things are run here. x-2PE3sjUIIeetAHoKOk

Heavy light fixtures fell on you?? maybe cause you didnt put the cover back on tight after replacing the bulbs!! and about the appliances you probably had a mini size washer and were over loading it!! maybe try the full size machine in your building!! also if you didn't notice there was this thing called a salt shortage in the chicago area this past winter what is hunters ridge supposed to do poop out salt for you?

Well I live here at Hunters Ridge as well. They should do something about the ice, its called liquid salt. It removes ice better than salt and theres no excuse why they didnt get any. As far as the washers... They are stackables that we as tenants pay for so why the hell dont they work. Ill tell u why, its cuz they installed the vent tubes incorrectly so u end up with water pooling up in the pipe which believe it or not DOESN;T allow your drier to work properly. The washer gets bogged down with little more than some boxers and t shirts, and never drains the water properly. I have asked for replacements since I moved in and have gotten nothing but grief. That vent tube I mentioned filling with water, busted and my hole ceiling needed to be replaced 2 times in my apartment.
Management here is slow at best and the property Mgr. Tracy likes to make excuses for a lot that goes on or lack there of. Replacing moldy carpet is out of the question... She'll just send someone out to "Clean it" which never works so your apt still smells of mold in the summer. The management appears to be renting to more and more less desirable folk as of late... not liking what I see. The little Indian guy loves to ride your but when your 2 days late and sends out a 5 day eviction notice immediately (I've lived here 5 years and they're gonna pull this C R A P ?).
We're movin asap, and will not be recommending this place.
