All in all it was an alright place to live. 3 weeks into moving in, someone broke into my car a stole about $2500 worth of stereo equipment and CD's. The managment was pretty sympathetic and helpful and offered me discounted rates to park both my cars in the underground garage under the building (awesome feature you don't find at too many suburban complex's) The parking lot is very underlit as noted by the cop taking my police report.
Inside the apartment was pretty decent. It's your run of the mill cheap carpet, white paint, basic electric appliences kinda place. The walk in closet in the two bedroom is nice to have.
Noise can be an issue, not so much from the residents, but the fact that some buildings are within a couple hundred feet of I-290. The apartment I had faced 290 and having the windows open made things very very noisey especially when you have trucks downshifting to make the Thorndale exit.
Next thing is the heating and cooling. They use these gigantic circa 1970 motel style heating and A/C wall units. They are so expensive to operate, unreliable, noisey, and do a terrible just of cooling in the summer. In a two bedroom you get two of these things and see electric bills in the 200's if you leave them both on. Radiant heat from the surrounding apartments do a decent job of keeping the place warm without turning on the light dimming wall beast.
The only other complaint i have is the laundry facilities. They're expensive, unreliable, and they only had 4 washers and four dryers for a 70-something unit building. I opted for the Maytag place down the street. k6tKKzmJrmATU2ap682S
