I have lived at 855 Hinman for almost 3 years and I have enjoyed it thoroughly. The location is outstanding - there are countless restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores and so forth in the area. The building is one small block away from both the El and the Metra stations as well as the Northwestern University Intercampus shuttle stop. The apartments themselves, and the building in general, are well maintained - Greg and Aurica (and now Charles) were always present when I needed something. Any concerns I had, whether it be a slow drain or whatever, were addressed within one business day. My apartment (a corner unit facing south & west) was bright and cheery. There is plenty of storage space, both within the apartment and outside of it (storage units, bike storage downstairs, etc.). There is a fitness center (which I admit I didn't use as often as I should have) and a laundry facility with plenty of washers and dryers. The neighbors are friendly and the sense of community is real. I have recommended this building to many, and a few of my friends and colleagues from Northwestern have actually moved in here. The few times that I had to contact the leasing company (TLC management) the staff were knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. All I can say is, if I didn't have to leave Evanston for work, I would not hesitate to remain in this apartment.
