I found this place on Apartments.com, and it has turned out to be one of the biggest disappointments of my life. Granted, this apt was remodeled and painted before I moved in, but that's about all the good I can say about this place. As a person who used to work in Home Remodeling, I am APPALLED at the poor quality of the ceilings, walls, doors, windows, and fixtures! The buildings have absolutely no insulation, so I can hear every conversation outside, plus I can feel the wonderful icy draft from midnight to 7am.
They are in the process of remodeling the exteriors, which has turned out to be a complete joke. The contractors seem to make their own hours--they show up at random hours of random days, and spend all day screwing around and talking on the phone. I can honestly say from prior experience, that I used to accomplish in ONE WEEK, what these idiots have been doing for 3 MONTHS!!! Plus, we don't seem to receive any notice or recent updates on the construction progress.
I have had complaints about the noise in my unit, but I don't make loud noise at late hours. But, because of the poor insulation, it sounds like I am dropping bowling balls on the floor, when all I'm doing is walking and watching TV at 10% volume.
I used to make my guests park on the street in fear of their car being towed, but now random cars park for days in our designated spots. It's a permit-or-be-towed policy, I don't get it.
Now, I am not complaining about the Manager or Maintenance. Both seem to be fine with me. Sure, it takes a while to get a response, but that's how it goes.
With my new job, I have to work 2nd shift most of the time, so I dont get home until 12-3am each day. So, when the landscapers start mowing the grass at 8am, and the construction guys start pounding on the buildings at 8am Mon-Sat; it makes for too many "No-Sleep Nights." We were told when we inquired about this place that it was a "Quiet place in a quiet neighborhood." What a load of False Advertising!!! We were never told that Pepper Valley Drive is the street that drivers take to outrun police cars.
Honestly, I could write a 5 page review on this place, right off the top of my head. Bottom line, I won't waste your time complaining about the same crap that happens every day; as long as you don't move here--you will be furious over the same crap that happens here every day. uWDgQKY3Vkv8FKIsB8Ax
