All I can say about Berkshire of Glen Ellyn was that it was just horrible. You can't control the heating, the air conditioning you mind as well not even use because the sealing in the rooms were so bad you are better of using a fan. Also the place is crawling with bugs. I have lived in lower class apartments with the occasional bug sightings but this place is a RoAch motel. I truly can't say there was not a 2 day span I went through without seeing a disgusting cockroach in my place and I am a total neat freak and keep my place clean. THere was even an incident when i woke up with a roach crawling on my face! And dont get me started with the management, I would get fines in the mail for utilities that should have been included in the rent. Not knowing this I paid for the first fine but continued to recieve them every month. When I went to the office to confront the manager they told me to just ignore the fines and the first payment I sent was not even considred to be returned. I only stayed here because of the price of rent but after they "remodeled" the rooms I was told that rent was to be raised by $250 to over 900!! Enough ranting, Just LOOK AROUND and you will find much better places for fraction of the price.

1. You CAN control the heating in the room. There's no thermostat, but it works, for sure. 2. A different company ruled the place in '05 and '06. 3. These apartments are the cheapest in the area. You CANNOT find a cheaper apartment in Glen Ellyn.

Um, yes there are cheaper & better places in Glen Ellyn, just do an internet search on craigslist or read a rent/apartment book!! I was looking at this place just b/c it is close to COD, but looking at all the bad ratings this place has it is NOT WORTH IT. Yuck, and it sounds like management will screw you in the end - ppl getting charged to replace carpets or getting late utilities bills (wouldn't that mess up your credit score?) The apts seemed nice when we went to look at them, but obviously the living conditions must not be that great if there are all these complaints!
