I lived at Hillcrest for 4 years.
It s in unincorporated Glen Ellyn, which is why their rent is cheaper than places down the street (cheaper property tax).
This is exactly the kind of place you would expect when living behind a 7-11 and a strip mall with a liquor store and a discount cigarette store. Since 2007 there have been kids going around doing spray painting; parking is always an issue; but the main problem is thin walls. I can hear my neighbors TV set and the stereo downstairs. Most people know this and turn things down/off by 10pm, but it still can get noisy. The grounds crew shows up at odd times (once at 11pm on a Thursday).
If you don t mind issues like this, then you can save $100-200 a month, and with our economy, every little bit helps.
Do not get a place in a building next to butterfield (street noise), near the garages (people are allowed to tune their motorcycles at all hours), near the 7-11 (traffic at all hours) or near the power lines.

I think you have the wrong Hillcrest! We are located in St. Louis, not in Glen Ellyn, we are not behind a 7-11 or strip mall/liquor store/cigarette store.

^ You have the wrong Hillcrest... The address is clearly stated as 20 Forest Hill Dr, Glenn Ellyn.
