Years at this apartment: 2000 - 2002
As I said, this is a nice apartment but it is all looks and no substance. In the time I have lived here my dishwasher and laundry machine/dry have both broken. For each instance it took over a month and a half to get the problem corrected. My door intercom almost never works and this is after the whole system was ?upgraded and modernized.?
With the exception of a few others and myself no one with a dog that lives here cleans up after their dog. See for yourself. Go to the field between the apartments and North Avenue or go to the grass island just northwest of the clubhouse. Speaking of dogs, my dog has been attacked by other tenant?s dogs on three separate occasions. Most of the people who live here feel they must have a big dog too. There are lots of Rottweilers, German Shepards, and other assorted large dogs. I like big dogs too, but these apartments are far too small for them. What is worse is that several people have two of these large dogs. Oh, and one more thing, not many people here believe that their dog does not need to be on a leash even though it is a law.
And now cats for but a minute? There are several cats that roam around the grounds. So if you have a dog, watch out when you walk it.
Now lets talk about the management staff? The level of incompetence simply defies belief. I am looking to get into a house. I ran out of time and had to renew my lease. So I sign the new lease, and a few days later after the manager signed it my copy arrived at my apartment. A few weeks later I get a call from the office asking me if I had signed and turned in the lease. I said yes. They then asked me to bring in my copy, I did. As it turns out they had lost their copy of my lease. Really nice. I do a lot of online shopping mostly for tech manuals. I am a network engineer. The office will accept packages when you are not home. This is a great feature, or so I thought. So far they have misplaced my parcels on four different occasions only to find them later. One time, one box stolen right out from under their ?watchful eyes? and taken into the bathroom at the clubhouse, opened and rifled through. Fortunately for me, once the person found it to be a box of computer geek books they cut and run leaving the contents alone. I know because I found it.
And now to safety? For a while I had an old beater car that I used to get back and forth to work so I could save miles on my good car. During its time at this complex it was broken into, on another occasion its door handle was broken off, and to add insult to injury the management staff, in it infinite wisdom, decided that I had not moved the car for too long a period and so they put a huge neon orange towing sticker on it. This happened despite the fact that I registered the car with them; it had a parking sticker, was operational, and had plates. All they had to do was look at their stupid spreadsheet. The path around the complex is not well lit on the far side away from President Street. So if you go for a walk late at nite take the mace just in case.
As I said, I had to renew, albeit mostly out of my own laziness. Not again, I would live out of my car first! Other than being a total CRAPHOLE this is a great place to live.
