I am going on my second year of living at Parkside. There are some really nice aspects of the apartments (washer/dryer, 2 bathrooms, and big rooms.) One of the biggest issues I have had is the parking lot (it floods whenever it rains, my car was totaled due to the rain overnight.) The complex also advertises it as cable ready but our outlet in the living room is broken and the office manager basically said to just live with it (she says hers is the same way.) Our dryer also gets water in it if the people below us do laundry and we don't have the door open (once again the office management says hers does the same thing.) I have filed a work order request but the maintenance man said it was condensation (condensation does not leave a puddle.) If the office management was more competent then it would be a great place.

Ugh. I live there now and the dryer thing is gross. I made the same complaint to the office and got a very similar response. Only I was told the vents were going to be cleaned "in the next week or so" and I got the same response when I mentioned it to them three weeks later. It wasn't as bad in the summer when the windows were open all the time, but now it's disgusting. It's like having a sauna I never wanted in the first place. It seems like this would be some kind of building code violation. The people in my building must be putting all their spandex in the dryer because it always smells like burning rubber. I just turn my dryer on when it starts backing up into my apartment.

3 guys came out very quickly when I mentioned the 1/4 inch of water in the dryer. They pulled out my washer and dryer fully to clean out all of the lint left behind by the prior owner who did not EVER clean the lint filter, which is at the BACK of the dryer. Consider cleaning your lint filters after every drying session guys.

We clean it after every load. I use a toothbrush to get it all out and every couple of weeks I use soap and water to clean it.
