I lived at Stonegate for nine months. What attracted me to the place was the two months free rent that they gave my room mates and I. Our lease was for nine months, at $899 per month, which is not bad for the area. There were four of us living at the apartment. You never had to worry about searching for a close parking spot. The buildings are pretty well maintained, however during our stay they put in a new fire alarm system which required putting some exposed conduits throughout our apartment which look very tacky. The apartments come with a fridge, microwave, dishwasher and stove as far as appliances. The appliances are not the newest in the world, but they work just fine. The laundry facility is not too shabby either, what I do not like about the laundry system is that the machines use special cards that must be recharged at the main office, and the recharging machines only accept five dollar bills. There are community grills in the courtyards between the buildings, which were nice (although it seemed like we were the only people to use the grill). The complex is around a mile away from the highway, and has a nice park across the street from it. There is also a nice shopping center a mile away from the complex on Army Trail Road.

Some of the negative aspects of the apartment include; Hondurans/-------- everywhere who play loud circus music all night long and don't work, the area seems kind of sketchy at night (but there is usually a cop at the end of the road, which provided some comfort). There are gratuitous amounts of Universal Technical Institute (UTI) students who drive ricey cars (Hondas) and rev their engines a lot. One night someone came to our door at around 1AM and asked if we could fix his car, which I really didn't appreciate.

Altogether the place is not too bad if your looking for something cheep in the Glendale Heights area. However, there are some nicer places for a comparable price.
