I lived at Grand Oaks for 3 years..... I have to say I miss it.... I have now moved to another state and I can say.... Grand Oaks was the best.... they made you feel as though you lived in a place that cared.... They had a contests for everything..... and it was great this gave me a time to meet my neighbors...... I have been everywhere.... and as much as I hated the WEATHER THERE.... This is the place THAT felt LIKE " home" I am sure you will feel the same..... MY KIDS LOVED IT THERE!!!! As I have said we are a military family.... and move so much but i do have to Thank the staff at Grand Oaks.....Eagle Managment.... Thank you for making my families time in IL. So special.... we will miss you and if any of our friedns ever go there trust me I will say MOVE TO GRAND OAKS! THANK YOU SO MUCH..... And a special thanks to you MA!!!!!!! I will never forget you!

Ever since Mary left the place has gone downhill...seriously letting anyone move in. The noise from all the unattended grade school kids is enough to turn the dead in their graves. The pond is in such bad condition that if you live near it, you need to close your windows at all times. They have floating garbage, bikes, shoes, dead fish...all this visible during the summer and into the early fall. They tried to something with the parking but that only became a horror for most of those who obeyed the rules and still allowed heavy traffic and numerous cars to remain overnight. There are no more contests, there are no more recommendation awards. And the rent keeps going up. There's only one maintainance man for all of the apartments and town homes also. The wooden railings and fences are falling down. They have attempted to fix them, however they are still potentially dangerous for smaller children as they are very high railings and don't go all the way down to the stoops...a large gap big enough to hurt a small child to a smaller adult! I don't recommend this place to anyone anymore.
