After reading some of the other comments posted here, I thought I might add a little insight for those who may be looking to move here.

We'll start with the good: The floor plan is great, with a huge bathroom and kitchen and plenty of storage.

And since we're on the third floor, we have the vaulted ceiling, which is VERY impressive looking and opens up the whole place.

My husband and I have never had a noise issue, and we live in a dog building.

The maintance staff has overall been helpful with our requests, and everything we have asked for has been taken care of with the time limits they give (longest was a 3-day wait to order a new knob part for our washer).

I do admit that the apartment saleswomen was a little "high pressure", but she also knew what she was talking about and was able to answer every one of my questions (and believe me, I came with a long written list of questions!).

And so far every neighbor we've met has been nothing but friendly and kind.

Now for the bad: the rent is a pretty extreme, the fireplace is for show (I'm sorry, but flipping a switch to get a pathetic looking flame is not my idea of a fire!), the stairways have no climate control so its very hot in the summer and very cold in the winter - not the greatest when you're on the 3rd floor! I don't know what they used to install the floor tiles, but since we've moved in, I've had to reglue about 20 tiles throughout the bathroom and kitchen (this was after complaining twice to the office and finally giving up and doing it myself).

The money they ask for as a pet deposit is outrageous, and most of it is non-refundable.

I haven't used the clubhouse/pool/fitness room since we moved in, but they appear to be nice enough.

Parking is abundent and Gurnee is a very nice area.

Overall, I think if you have the money to spend, spend it here.
