I've lived here a little over a year.

Really Great-

The apartment is beautiful- vaulted ceilings, track lighting, fireplace, balcony view, newer.
I love having my own staircase and entrance.
The appliances are newer and work great. If they don't, maintenance is just an e-mail away.
Paying rent on-line rocks.

Minor annoyances-

The cupboards / kitchen drawers aren't a regular width or length. Regular organizers will not work.
The recycle bin fills up fast. In the winter snow makes it really hard/ impossible to lift the covers.
Outside lighting is really bright at night. We had to buy curtains to go over the blinds.
Vaulted ceilings make it necessary to call maintenance when the fire alarm goes off or a bulb on the track lighting burns out.
Not a really friendly community. Everyone sticks to themselves- which could be a positive...

Needs to change-

I've had to open up my apartment to people a lot. Management does notify you, however this is done by notices left on the door. The notices can blow away or get lost before renters have a chance to read them. I don't like to leave my apartment open to strangers so I've had to arrange a few days off on short notice to make sure I was home during the "inspections".
The fire alarms go off a lot. There are two sets of alarms, your apartments set and the buildings set.
This year we had a lot of snow. The parking lots were kept very clean but the road was not. Making a left hand turn out of the complex became dangerous. And as the snowfall increased, plowmen piled the snow in such a way as to prevent drivers from being able to see cross traffic.
The Gurnee mail system is not the best. The mail carrier doesn't always feel like knocking on my door or leaving a note. This happens a lot- especially if you have exterior entry.
