Good points, but outweighed by bad ones

When touring the complex, my fiancee and I thought it was very nice and that the management was very interested in what we thought.
However, once we signed the lease they didn't seem to care much at all.
Maintenance is fine and quick to respond, and the buildings and apartments all are very nice.
Parking is no problem, and the highway is not loud at all.
The on-site pool and workout room are a plus as well.
However, the neighbors are very loud.
This is not the apartments fault of course, but I don't think the walls are as thick as they could be.
The nine foot ceilings are also nice, but heat is so inefficient it makes me want to buy a dozen space heaters.
Not to mention the blower for the heat/AC is EXTREMELY loud, to the point of cranking up our tv volume almost to max and making normal conversation sound like an argument.
Lastly, the fact that our INDIVIDUAL hot water supply regularly produces lukewarm showers (and no, NOT while running the dishwasher or wash machine - 6am, i have to jump in and jump out because it's too cold to be comfortable.
I'm the first to use it!!) makes me wonder what's going on.
Basically, it is a decent apartment that is very clean.
The major upsides (parking is great, laundry in-unit) are outweighed by the overpricing, the crappy heat/water, and indifferent management.
Basically, it's an average apartment at above average prices.

RIGHT ON! We lived at Woodlake for years. FROZE our butts off in the winter. The buildings are made of CARDBOARD. Windows are cheap vinyl, we put plastic on them and still froze. Noise from freeway was bad, espec since walls were like paper.
I must say that the apartment was clean and neutral. Nice layout. Nice kitchens. But it ended there.
For the price we paid, we finally moved. Would not take another winter there.
Found the staff nice. But the staff could not rebuild the crap buildings.

We lived at Woodlake for a little over 2 years. While I can't speak for the staff now, as that was a few years ago, I do have a tip about the hot water. Go in to the utility closet where the hot water heater is and crank the temp to like 140. your hot water will last a lot longer. that's what we had to do!

A new management company has taken over. So far it seems like the good employees left and the bad ones have stayed on : ( No longer sure if this is where I want to call home...

I agree with the above statement. The management/employees here are very poor. We have lived here for over 2 years. I felt like they did care for us when we toured the place, but after we signed the lease, they became very lazy in attesting to our needs and simple questions we had regarding rent cost- The apartments are way overpriced for what you get--nothing is even included in the base rent which is ridiculous for the price--blinds are cheap, walls are thin to where you can hear everything in the place next door as well as can't hang much without putting holes in the wall because it can't hold much weight, and AC is loud. Overall will be moving once lease is up.

I too agree with all that is said above, except for the noise from the highway. Even with all windows shut you can here EVERYTHING!!! The highway at all times of the day and night, six flags when they are open, and of course all neighbors, purpously noisy or not.
