The complex has changed significantly since I first moved here 3 yrs ago. I mean this is a nondiscriminating way. However, since I discovered they offer Section 8 and "affordable" housing, you have a certain population of people that you would expect to find in the inner city.I now see frequent damage to property doors, locks, lighting in hall ways etc... standing on the corner doing gang hand shakes,seeing empty bags of drugs at the front entrance of the apartment. It is as if all those looking for a way out maybe with the intentions of trying to start something new with all the benefits of better school system etc... came here trying to "get away" from that lifestyle found them selves right back close to home. The crime rate hasn't been noticible to my knowledge thankfully- no shootings. Possibly because of Dupage county law enforcement as opposed to cook county who would barely respond to a call.When i moved here my income barely met the requirments and with a new addition to my family I wanted to upgrade to a larger apartment or townhouse in the interim of purchasing a home within the next year or so- thinking i can put up with the facility a little longer- to bank money for down payment. Now my income far exceeds their qualifications and to my surprise i find out I can't move out of my bldg. you can get an upgrade apartment but it has to be in the same bldg. i couldnt understand why i couldnt get a town house in the mean time while I save for a house. I move to a 3 bdrm apt and its freezing all winter!!! I had to buy a heater for the master bdrm. I was told that ALL 3 bdrms don't have adequate heating because of the way they first built them. So now I'm trying to break my lease and hurry and find a house. On top of all that, for them to be considered "affordable housing" if you have more than 1 car per lease owner you have to pay $200 for parking permit that has to be renewed annually for another $100. their justification was because some people are abusing the parking with 7 cars,(yes they said 7 cars!) in one apartment and showing proof they are the owner. maybe there should be a more stricter rule than just showing an added name on insurance policy. no one living here has 7 cars we know that! but if you make them show real proof like the loan from the bank for the car with their name on it, it will prevent people from abusing the parking. So my question to management was when u get this extra $200 for each additional car will you expand parking, add more security, paint some real parking lines; of course not! the visitors parking is full 24/7 so if you have guest coming over and the office is closed after 7 and there is no where to park, your guest is now at risk for their car being towed and it has happened to friends of ours, who now wont even come over. I've had neighbors who had leaks in their apt. did not report it to maintenance and the water came into my apartment damaging personal belongings.BE SURE TO SERIOUSLY CONSIDER PRIOR TO MOVING IN!!!

We have lived here almost 1 year, my children cant go outside and play becuse of the little gansters. I mean these children act like they teenagers, fighting, and threating, and etc.. its ubelivable. The Apt has security guards, but they never around. Everyones experince may be different, and other building may not be so bad. but buiiding 10 is very bad, theres children that dont live in the two buliding s but live at another building that always come over to play. My children has nice toys , so far a razar scooter, and 2 soccer balls have been stolen, They take my kids tys when there not around and leave them places and then cause problems for us in the office, They want to play with my kids toys, but dont want to share theres, they get in a fight and theres bullys bulling other kids, not just mine, but even little one. its unbelivable! I made complaints to the apt many times but they do nothing instead we have become the center of attention. They have tons of geese that poop all over, and tons of babies, they poop on our patio, and We were blamed for unclean patio. Theres mud mainly by the enterace and on some patios, theres no grass, and when people track mud ( most usually children) or roll there bike in mud, roll onto my patio ad ask to talk to my kids, i get blamed. We never have problem with my kids. Im the only one outside to watch the kids when able, and somtimes while im at work theres someone else here. My kids cant go outside and play becouse of all the violence and wild behaviors. The kids when mad will thro mud at my apt, mhy kids were inside, we got blamed for that, becosue they seen mud in my kids trucks. My boys want to play and they out with soome of the kids and the kids are wild, i've watched them throw somthing it may hit someones elses door, adn they run off, and my kids dont relize until late and try to leave, well done to late bcoues they come to the door, and the only kids they see is mine. which is understanblke, what else are they to think. Since school has been out my children have to stay day after day in the apt, cant go out. You try to talk to the kids, and try to break things up, and u have a mother or father come out bitching you out.. They nver aruound to see what there child is doing, but yet they want to bith you out Iv hvae had my child beaten sooo many times. ITS NOT A PLACE FOR CHILDREN TO LIVCE< but the only good thing about it is that is sooo close to the school. I have had childrend attack my child, and others, and throw them down, aand while they donwn on ground kick the kids, and then kick there head. When confront the parents they say they told there children to fight back. I have lots of witness of the bulling goin bo and my children didnt start it. There has been a killing in this area, a cild or woman was found shot, they evacuated the school, thers always police here at peoples house. There also has been a person who was ---, that was having sex openly in the car and there was 10 children witness the sexual behavior, and the women dint care, and they have been reported from the children that they have been flashed from the apt. My kids are half haitian and half white, and i rather live in the haitan or all white neighborhood. The black american people here are crazy! I feeel like i liging in a slum. my husband is the main perosn on the lease but im moving my chldren aout and inot my apt. I have been in all black neighborhoods up north and they way lot civilized then these people. They also say that its low income thats bot true. We rented a apt for 700 in Hinsdale and it wasnt low income and no problems with my children having someone to play with no violence and the y2 years i libved there not police, tha apt however has been taken over by different owners notw. so i dont know the status, but we have also payed 840 a month in hinsdale, and it wasnt low income and it was way better . The prices they charge is not low income, they have raised the rent and i know 4 familys that are moving and not renewing the lease becouse they rent is going up 900 and some even close to 1000. 1000 is altot ot pay for a bad neighborhood. HInsdale is low violence. Before movng call police apartment and ask they have the right to tell you. Ask about the neighboorhood and area before you move. ask about the crime rate. I have always known it was bad here bout never this bad its just gotten bad this year.
