Yes, it was once ideal to live in downtown Joliet. Yes, I am still a resident at the Louis Joliet Apartments. The onsite manager is a joke. Nothing like the previous one. She never, ever returns your calls; even when asked to do so. Any concern that you have is of no concern to her. There are two elevators and only one has been operable in the three years that I have lived here. Now that low-income families have been approved by vouchers to live here, the building has continued to have trash, grafiti and anything else imagineable strewn in it. I am looking to purchase a home. There is no way I wish to continue to pay the rent ($860) which goes up annually of course, and get the treatment that we receive. Oh, and don't bother trying to get decent heat in the winter....ha! aLKeoXpj3s4OSgrp1trb

Who would have a response like that? Oh wait - the slum lord management.

Thanks for responding with a name! It is probable that the tax credit received was not recognized nor understood. Not that it is "all that" beneficial to those who reside in the building. It is more beneficial to the property owners of the building (aka tax write-offs). However, that is neither here nor there. Anything is much more appealing and accepted if you are treated with respect and dignity...especially if rent is paid on time and rules and regulations are adhered to. No one should just be spoken to when there is a showing; all calls to management should be returned; and finally when spoken to, there should be a response instead of a blank stare. It is all about common courtesy for which management should adhere to. It is a part of customer service...the servicing of deserving tenants. Bottom line, it is more than just taking the monthly rent money and accepting a bi-weekly salary!
