Great location, no amenities, decent price

I have lived in Homestead in a two bedroom one bath for about a year. The first day was the most difficult when I realized what I got. Is the excellent location worth it' You decide....
On the bright side, it IS a great location close to downtown LaGrange, which is a great downtown with lots of shopping and restaurants. Less than a mile from the train also, right next to the Jewel, a part and th e library. It has a nice cozy, warm vintage feel and is GORGEOUS in the summer with vines and trees and well-kept grounds. It is VERY clean.
On the down side: Don't take a third or second floor unit if you have fairly large size furniture. What a nightmare it was to move in!
The carpet was stated to never be more than 2 years old, but this carpet is 10 or 12 years old if it's a day. Even the corners are beaten down. And evidently a cat peed in the bedroom.
The walls are THIN THIN THIN - I can hear voices from the bedroom in the apartment next to me, even when they aren't being very noisy.
The shower has pathetic water pressure and I can't tell you how many times I've been scalded when somebody evidently started a load of clothes downstairs....
bringing us to the laundry room in the basement with one washer & dryer. Not bad if you're on the first floor, but if you're on the third...
The storage units and garages are evidently prone to flooding although I haven't experienced that yet (thank goodness). (On the bright side, they are good sized storage units and the garages are reasonably priced.)
There are very few electrical outlets in the rooms. The kitchen only has two, and one of those is taken by the refrigerator and stove.
There was one phone connection in the whole house.
The kitchen is tiny tiny tiny with very little storage.
Parking is marginal - there really isn't enough outside parking in the lots. However, you can park on the street and call in your car.
I came from a larger, really nice place so I admit I'm a little prejudiced.
