On first glance this is a nice apartment complex and our 1 bedroom is huge with a washer and dryer in the unit and 16 x 14 master bed. BUT after a 3 months we (my husband and I) knew we were in trouble. The contruction looks great with vaulted ceilings and corrian counter tops, but it took a few months to find the wholes in the carpet padding and the paint on the wall is just a coat of primer so any sratch, rub, or spill cannot be cleaned only re painted.

Rules, rules, rules. The managment here is a -----! I must park both of my cars on the west side of the building or there will be a fine. There are specific areas where your pets can poop and if you don't follow that there will be fine. There are items you can and cannot have on your balcony (not's are strollers, bikes, toys) you will get a fine. Also we cannot pay our rent in 2 checks, if we do it again there will be fined. Children are also not allowed at the complexes parties (period).

The complex had a really great maintaince man (Scott) who was the most laid back easy going guy and he left because managment was awful to him.

Also, there are monthly nasty grams that remind you of the rules and various ways to be fined that are attached to marketing circular (what a waste of my rent).

P.s. The rent includes water, garbage, and $28 for crappy basic dish cable that goes out now and then.

Manager's Response

From: Manager Date: 07/12/2008
I am pleased to know that you enjoy our spacious apartment homes. Regarding your statement about the holes in the carpet, I hope that you were able to bring that directly to our attention so that we could inspect and repair it, if need be. I have always allowed residents to pay with more than one rent check. We have plenty of roommate situations here and have always allowed multiple rent checks for the added convenience. We take all maintenance requests very seriously and expect to be notified about any concerns regarding the appearance of your apartment. If you had concerns about the walls of your apartment, again, I hope that you were able to bring those to our attention so that we could work to fix the problem. The parking here at The Sanctuary is ???open??? parking. This means that you are free to park wherever you would like. I am not sure what restrictions you are writing about. The only stipulation is that if you have a garage, you use it to park your vehicle and if you have visitors stay overnight for several days, they are required to have a visitor pass, which we will provide. The ???pet stations??? around the property are there for a very specific reason. Although we have many pet lovers at the property, not everyone is a responsible pet owner. Those who do not have pets should not have to pick up dog waste or step it in unknowingly. If we allow animals to urinate and defecate anywhere and everywhere, the grounds would not look as nice as they do. The same goes for the balconies and patios. We have storage units or garages or additional storage on balconies for storing such items. Per your comment about children not being allowed at the resident events, this was something the previous management put into place. We have not adhered to this in the last 4 years. Children are always welcome to attend planned parties/events. I do not know how to respond to the ???monthly nasty grams??? you write about. I have never sent out a list of rules or fines to anyone for no reason. We do follow up with residents by letter if there is a problem or concern we need to address, however, the reason for the letter is to make sure we are able to reach the resident in a timely manner and so that we do not disturb people at work/school, etc???With respect to Dish Network, the charge is $32.00 for access to 39 channels, with options to upgrade to additional packages, if you so choose. If you experienced problems with your reception, we hope that you notified us about it so that we could look into the issue and try to find a resolution or make any necessary repairs. If you have any suggestions on how we can make improvements for future residents, please do let me know.
