Great place to live

I have lived at the Sanctuary for just over two years and I am really happy here. I have a great view of the duck preserve and pool. I can open my windows and enjoy the sounds of nature instead of traffic and noise pollution. Everyone in my building is respectful and I rarely hear any noise from the neighboring apartments. If I have a problem maintenance is up to correct it immediately. There is always fresh coffee and cookies in the club house. And a ton of fun & diverse events that allow you to get to know your neighbors: a meet and greet with the Chamber of Commerce, ice cream socials for the kids, wine tasting, pool parties, etc. Everyone in the leasing office is friendly and helpful and quick to respond to concerns.

Before I get blasted by some disgruntled resident,I do not work in the leasing office. No property is ever perfect regardless whether you rent or own. I have lived in rental property for over 20 years and the Sanctuary is one of my best experiences. Before moving to the Sanctuary I lived in an AMLI property in Indianapolis. I paid a lot more rent per square foot for a smaller apartment and way less service. The walls of my old place were painted primer white and we were not allowed to paint over them. The cabinets in the kitchen of my apartment were a combination of particle board and faux wood laminate. We had electric heat and electric fireplaces (with fake flames) and if the power went out in the winter then so went your heat. Because there were no breed restrictions or leash rules on dogs, I was chased and bitten by my neighbors mangy mutt walking from my garage to my front door. The police later shot and killed it in our parking lot after it mauled a neighborhood child. Neither the pet owner or the complex did anything about it even when we complained.

Sam Walton was spot on when he said the customer is not always right some are arrogant, rude and deceitful. People that have nothing better to do that complain about how wrong they have been treated are the biggest abusers of the customer service system. I have no problem with the rules of the complex or the terms of my lease because it is insurance to me that I live in a safe community, free of rift-raft and criminally minded individuals. It is a comfort to me that the Sanctuary screens its residents and imposes rules on activities which is a far cry from other complexes that are more concerned about collecting rent checks and letting just anyone live there.

It's not a matter of being 'blasted by some disgruntled resident', it's just that residents, disgruntled or no, aren't as meticulous as this 'writer'. It's an office produced posting. Worse yet, it smacks of attitude. Therefore, it's easy to pinpoint that it's Tara, the manager. What a story too! I'm sure in the time that she took to put this fictional tale together she could have been doing something better with her time. People don't live here (and I did for two years myself, only leaving to buy a house) because of ice cream socials, pool parties, wine tastings or chamber meetings. Alot of people live in the apartment because they need a place to lay their head at night. Period. And if the staff is still the same from the late springtime when I moved out, I'm presuming it's still the same rude manager and snotty leasing agent, then no Starbucks coffee or cookies is going to sugarcoat the truth. The staff needs to be more personable and friendly ALL THE TIME. People generally move in for their needs ONLY and nothing else. If the staff's nice, then that's a bonus. But it's really something when you feel like all the attention was doted on you just to get you to rent there, then it all stops there. I'm not the only person who's felt that way. Bottom line, Sanctuary is pretty new still, has a huge fitness center and a nice location...stay away from the staff at all costs

I think it is funny that when anyone says anything good about an apartment, then it "must be" written by someone in the office. It's just ridiculous. I have lived at the Sanctuary for approx. 15 mos. and have had no problems whatsoever with the office staff. There was one in whom I encountered a snotty attitude, but she is gone. The rest of the staff, including Tara, the manager, has always been friendly and accomodating. Obviously, some people encountered problems, but I always have to wonder if those same people didn't invite those problems with their own attitude because I certainly haven't experienced it and I know others who haven't as well. When you look at the choices for apartments in northern Lake County, Il, the Sanctuary is your best choice. I've looked at and/or had friends who lived in several of the other apartments in the area, and they can't compete with this place.
