My (then) boyfriend and I moved into the Sanctuary in Feb of 07. It seemed like a really decent place, but after being there for a few months, I started to realize that the Sanctuary really wasn't that much of a Sanctuary. The village benefits were awesome, especially with the library right across the parking lot, but honestly it wasn't worth it.
Eventually my boyfriend and I broke up and he moved out, but instead of taking him off the lease like I had asked, ---- decided that it would be best to not have to "go through the paperwork" and just live out the rest of the lease. Too bad I couldn't get my key back from the guy. Eventually I had a new key issued and ---- seemed okay with it, but when I needed another one made, she was rude and questioned my integrity by rolling her eyes and releasing a long and somewhat anguished sigh as if I were causing her extreme frustration.
I also spent the entire 12 month lease living right across the hall from ----. She would throw loud parties and I can even remember having to deal with her and her guests singing karoakee to some country song. My neighbor on the "B" side of the building had their bedroom set up against my own and at night I could hear their bed squeeking and creaking and sometimes even moans and heaving breathing. It was disguisting! As if that's not frustrating!! I also lived below one of the other leasing consultants who has a toddler, and as if having to deal with loud noise from the property manager, this woman did nothing to try and keep her kid from running the entire length of the apartment repeatedly at 10pm or later. The only reason why I found out she lived above me was because I went upstairs to complain and when she opened the door, I almost lost my words. I mean, how do you make a noise complaint to the management about the manangement' I asked her to keep it down, and that lasted for maybe 1 day. I figured that it was useless to complain again because clearly the property manager and that particular leasing consultant felt that they were above their own rules.
Recieving packages there was impossible. I was expecting a package from one of my friends in Iraq, and aparently it never got there, even though the package had been tracked.
In the last month I was there I was charged for multiple violations of the "rules" or rather ridiculous money making schemes, the most frustrating one being that I was charged for a full months market price rent for giving 56 days instead of 60 days notice of intent to vacate. Okay okay, my fault for not pulling out the copy of my lease to check, but ---- and her army can call me literally 18 times to invite me to a Renewal Dinner, but can't remind me that if I don't give 60 days notice that I would incur a $1200 fine' That's complete bs right there.
On the day I moved out of the apartment, I was cleaning, finishing the little knick-knack packing, and loading up my vehicles the entire day. By the time I had finshed, the office was closed and the staff had left for the day, but I had to return the keys, so I walked over to the clubhouse and punched in my access code but the door wouldn't open. I punched in my code about 20 times in frustration and got nothing each time. I even went to ----'s apartment (my code still worked on my building) to try and give her the keys to avoid getting charged for returning the keys late, but no answer at her door. This meant I had to go to my new home (45 mins away) and wait till the next day to waste my gas and return the keys. I let them know how angry I was and even put in a complaint to the Property Owner.
In short, the complex is beautiful, but the management is horrible, frustrating, and could care less about the tenents, the parking is ridiculous and there is no reason why you should have to park 4 buildings away when you pay out your butt for "luxury". Winter is awful- plan on getting stuck in your parking space at least 3 times. The cable sucks and goes out all the time. Never mind getting a good night's sleep due to noisy neighbors, and expect to pay for all brand new carpet if you get one stain on it. Well, pretty much expect to pay for everything and anything. This place is not worth the money or the services. And if you happen to be so unfortunate to be greeted by ---- if you do go in to check it out, RUN! She as fake as fake can get.

| Unfortunately, we are not allowed to just remove someone from a contractual obligation until it expires due to personal disagreements. Because you told me that you could not get the key back from your boyfriend, I happily re-keyed your unit the moment you came in the office. Your second instance that you are referencing was not for a key, it was a request to get you a new building code because you had released it to a non-leaseholder and you were afraid that he was going to steal your cat. Unfortunately, I was unable to change the code that moment but I did have it done for you later that day. I have never thrown a loud party as you have referenced. I also encountered the issues you are referring to with the music but actually was both of our neighbors, not me as you are suggesting. As far as your "B" side neighbors are concerned, I would have tried to resolve the problem immediately if you had brought it my attention while living here. Often time???s people are unaware that they are disturbing others unless they are told so. As far as the leasing agent that lived above you is concerned, it is unfortunately more difficult to contain a toddler's behavior. But again, if you had brought it to my attention while living here, I would have tried to resolve the problem immediately. It was not until reading your posting that I knew it was ever an issue. To have a person receive packages here at the complex, everyone is required to sign a package release form like you did which states that unfortunately we do not have the manpower to call each resident. During slower times, I have had the staff try to call people with packages and have even taken our pool attendants off duty to help us during the times we had a plethora of packages come to the office. I am very sorry that you may not have gotten a call for that specific instance. The reason that we had to replace your carpeting for the next tenant is because there was an exorbitant amount of cat urine throughout the rooms which was unable to be removed by regular cleaning and sanitizing. We have a high set of standards we have to meet to classify an apartment as "move-in ready" and applied those same standards to your unit prior to your arrival. Sometimes there are more visitors than normal and we unfortunately cannot guarantee a reserved spot in the complex unless you rent a garage. The great thing is that there are 4 entrances to every building should your favorite spot not be available. I am not sure what charge you are speaking of for turning keys in late, because you were not late. I also cannot guarantee that I will always be home as I do not conduct business for residents out of my apartment after hours. A voice mail to the office explaining your code not working and then popping the keys in the mail would have been sufficient, or even leaving them in the apartment would have been ok too. I apologize for your inconvenience that day but do appreciate you bringing them all the way to the office. With regards to the snow, we had a record snowfall this winter and unfortunately, we cannot prevent cars getting stuck in their parking spaces. Due to the record snowfall, it was more difficult to remove the snow as fast as we would have liked. Rob, our maintenance superintendent, was kind enough to assist those who may have been stuck with getting out as much as he could. I am sorry that it happened to your more than once. If you would like to discuss any of these issues further, please feel free to let me know. | |

Two words.
Damage control.
And, the fact that obviously ---- has nothing better to do with her time than be paranoid about a board site.
How pathetic.

I find it interesting that the property manager says that she has not had loud parties. I infact last summer called the cops for a noise complaint because someone with about 10 of their friends were singing so loud to the music at 11pm that my daughter woke up. Only after the police came was I alerted to what resident it was.
