I lived at Edgewood from 2002 to 2004. The building I lived in had been totally renovated due to a fire which had destroyed the entire 48 unit building in 2001. I found this out after I had signed my lease. The building was nicely redone with brand new fixtures, electrical, plumbing and appliances. I loved my apartment but it was expensive. The main problem with Edgewood is the tenants that it leases apartments to. The credit and background checks must be for profit only. People were always moving in or moving out. Domestic and gang problems were common. The police and fire dept were there more often than not. It seemed as if some tenants didn't care that they or their children were disturbing others, damaging property or creating safety hazzards. The main entry and side doors were often left propped open and there were many occasions of loitering in the stairwells. Maintenance was prompt responding to my calls and the buildings/grounds were cleaned daily. I guess this made some tenants think it was okay to dump trash/garbage in the common areas and parking lots. The onsite management staff was pleasant but they seemed to be at a loss for what goes on or how to solve the problems. Only one tenant meeting was held during my stay there and it was basically a severe tongue lashing about locking your apartment/patio doors and supervising your children. Out of the entire complex only a handful of tenants attended this meeting. During the last year I was there, several cars were broken into in the parking lot and a fire totally destroyed another 48 unit building which is now under construction. My overall opinion is that Edgewood is overpriced, undermanaged and needs a higher security standard. The renovated units are very nice and would be worth the cost in a different setting. If they can't find a way to solve these problems then it will always be a no win situation for anyone who choose to live there and for the surrounding community as well.

hes correct, after googling edgewood apartments and finding out all the negitive things people say about it. its no wonder they changed their name to riverwood apartments. i had a friend who used to live there and it was like something out of a gang movie, people hanging out in the hallway all the time smoking pot, kids running around unsupervised cars getting broken into all the time.
