The good reviews on Abbey Apts are written by none other than the management themselves. Read the bad reviews, they ARE true, I havn't read any bad review for Abbey that was not true till this date 10/19/05. The good reviews sound like 4Lakes, not anything like Abbey. Another fact about Abbey management, they are liars and will make you pay for normal wear and tear. First, why are they liars' They will slap on fees when you move out. I took everything with me that was inside my apartment at Abbey, but since the maintenance man said there was some stuff in the hallway after I moved out, it was automatically mine and I was charged a $50 fee for removal. Now how would you prove items weren't yours when they threw them away already and they convieniently didn't take any pictures either. However, they did take pictures of some spots they found in my 3 month rental. I live clean, I even had my floors steam cleaned when I moved out of there... BUT I have come to the conclusion that they want brand new carpet for every new tenant, PAID by the previous tenant. They have in their lease that if they find any spots with a UV Light they have the right to change the carpet. They will do it every time, that's why you must get renters insurance to move there. They tell you to "just place a claim," easy enough, but insurance has a $500 deductable for their $700 carpet. I was waiting to have Four Lakes get my condo done i just purchased, so I thought it would be convienient to move to Abbey (especially because 4Lakes paid for my movers when I bought), was I ever wrong. I was only there for 3 months, and they changed the carpet. I called multiple carpet cleaners, their response was that Abbey's UV Light test is designed to have you fail. The cleaners say that even new carpets have spots that show in UV Light because phosphorus particles are so abundant everywhere. A carpet installer could have stepped in something that has these particles and transfered it to new carpet, the cleaners say it is exactly like invisible ink. Trust me DO NOT MOVE HERE, they WILL rip you off! You have now been warned.

yes - the carpet thing is especially true - prop. mgr. even slipped-up a bit and admitted it.

I live here and the lease says that they only uv test when you have a pet in the apartment. If this is the case then I think it is only right, I don't want to move into a place that had animal urine in the carpet when I move in.
